Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons onion soup mix
1-1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
2-1/2 pounds fish fillets
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine sour cream and soup mix. Place bread crumbs in another shallow bowl. Cut fish into serving-size pieces; coat with sour cream mixture, then roll in crumbs. , Place in two greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dishes. Drizzle with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 12 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese; bake 2-6 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
2 1/2 lbs fish fillets (fresh or frozen thawed)
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425. Spray w 13x9x2 inches baking dishes.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine sour cream and soup mix. Place bread crumbs in another shallow bowl (I use a pie pan). Cut fish into serving size pieces; coat with the sour cream mixture, then roll in the crumbs.
  • Place in two greased 13x9x2 inch baking dishes. Drizzle with the butter. Bake, uncovered, at 425 for 12 minutes. Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese; bake 2-6 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

2 tablespoons from envelope onion soup mix
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs, seasoned
2 1/2 lbs fish fillets, fresh (thawed if frozen) or 2 1/2 lbs fish fillets, frozen (thawed if frozen)
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup parmesan cheese, shreddedd

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease two 9 x 13-inch baking dishes.
  • In shallow bowl, combine first two ingredients; reserve. Place bread crumbs in another shallow bowl.
  • Cut fish into serving-size pieces, coat with sour cream mixture, then roll in crumbs.
  • Place in prepared baking dishes. Drizzle with butter.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 2-6 minutes until fish flakes easily with fork.

Baked fish with a nice breaded coating. I used this recipe for whiting fillets and served with browned butter for dipping. This recipe is courtesy of Southern Living "Our Best Easy Weeknight Favorites" cookbook.

1/4 cup white cornmeal (I used yellow) or 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal (I used yellow)
1/4 cup fine dry breadcrumb
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 lb fish fillet (fresh or frozen thawed)
1/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
tartar sauce (optional) or browned butter (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Combine first 6 ingredients in a shallow dish.
  • Dip fish fillets into the milk and coat with breading mixture.
  • Place fish in a lightly greased 13x9 dish or cookie sheet; drizzle with butter.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Serve with lemon, tartar or browned butter.

1 cup light sour cream
2 tablespoons Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 lbs fish fillets, about 1 1/2 inches thick,cut into 6 pieces (I use flounder or catfish)
1/2 cup oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500-degrees F.
  • Grease 9x12" baking dish.
  • Combine sour cream and soup mix in small bowl.
  • Mix breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley and paprika in small dish.
  • Dip fish in sour cream mixture and then in bread crumb mixture.
  • Arrange fish in single layer in baking dish.
  • Pour oil over top of all.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes; turn and continue baking until done, about 5-10 more minutes.
