BROWNIES IN A JAR

Steps:

• To make 'brownies in a jar' you'll need a 1 litre glass jar.
• In a small bowl, mix the plain flour, salt and baking powder together.
• Carefully spoon half of the flour mixture into the bottom of the glass jar. Gently move the flour around so that you have an even layer.
• Spoon the cocoa powder on top of the plain flour in the jar and spread around to create another even layer.
• Spoon the remaining flour mixture over the top.
• Continue to create the layers in the following order - brown sugar, caster sugar, milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and finally walnuts.
• Close the lid of the glass jar (if you have any extra space at the top of the jar, simply top up with extra walnuts).

DRY BROWNIE MIX FOR GIFTING

Steps:

• Combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a resealable plastic bag or pint-sized jar. Seal and shake well to mix.

BROWNIE MIX IN A JAR II

Steps:

• Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a quart jar. Layer remaining ingredients in the order listed. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next layer. NOTE: Be sure to wipe out the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel after adding the cocoa powder, so the other layers will show through the glass.
• Attach a tag with the following instructions: Brownie Mix in a Jar 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13inch baking pan. 2. Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl, and stir to blend. Mix in 3/4 cup melted butter and 4 eggs. Mix thoroughly. Spread batter evenly into prepared baking pan. 3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely in pan before cutting into 2 inch squares.

GIFT BROWNIE MIX - IN A JAR

Steps:

• Wash and dry jars and lids in the dishwasher.
• Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a quart jar, pack firmly and brush residue off the insides of the jar with a pastry brush.
• Add cocoa, pack firmly and brush sides.
• Add sugar, pack and brush.
• Add chocolate chips and seal.
• Attach the following recipe:.
• 1 jar brownie mix.
• 1 cup butter melted.
• 3 eggs.
• 1 teaspoon vanilla.
• Preheat oven to 350°F.
• Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring.
• Place brownie mix in a bowl and stir to mix.
• Add butter, eggs and vanilla and mix until well blended.
• Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
• Bake 25-30 minutes.
• Cool completely before cutting.

BROWNIE MUFFIN CUPS (GIFT MIX IN A JAR)

Steps:

• Creating the Gift in a Jar:
• Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.
• Layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the walnut halves, brown sugar, sugar, cocoa powder and then flour - make sure to press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each addition; make the layers as level as possible.
• Secure the lid and decorate as desired; attach the instructions for making these cookies found below.
• BROWNIE CUPS GIFT TAG:
• Additional ingredients to be added by the recipient: 3 eggs, 1 cup melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract.
• BROWNIE CUPS INSTRUCTIONS:
• Preheat oven to 350.
• In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the butter and extract and whisk together.
• Add the contents of the jar, and stir until just mixed; do not overstir.
• Spoon the batter into greased or papered muffin tins, filling each cup two-thirds full.
• Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops begin to crack and appear dry.
• Cool for 10 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
• Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
