Garlic Broccoli Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: large shrimp, garlic, broccoli floret, onion, low sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, salt

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups broccoli floret
½ onion, diced
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
½ teaspoon salt, divided

Steps:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour in the shrimp and season with ¼ teaspoon of the salt.
  • Fry the shrimp for 1 minute on each side.
  • Remove the shrimp from the pan and pour in the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • Toss in the onion and remaining ¼ teaspoon of salt and sauté for a few minutes until they begin to soften.
  • Add in the broccoli, garlic and soy sauce and sauté until the garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Toss the shrimp back into the pan and mix until everything is well incorporated and the shrimp is fully cooked, about 1 minute.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between 4 bowls.
  • Enjoy!

This is a recipe I got several years ago. I thought it was one my mother made, but my sister doesn't remember it at all, so I must have got it from someone when I was in college. It is a favorite of mine and I hope you enjoy it.

6 c broccoli, cut in smallish pieces (you can use both stems and florets)
1-2 can(s) small to medium shrimp
1 can(s) water chestnuts, sliced
1 sweet onion, chopped
1 c mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. You can use the quantity of broccoli that you would like, this recipe is pretty flexible.
  • 2. You can use the broccoli raw, but I prefer to blanch it. To blanch the broccoli bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Place the broccoli in the water making sure all broccoli is under water and leave for only 1 minute. Then drain the water from the broccoli and put in ice water to stop the cooking.
  • 3. Put the broccoli in a bowl and add the chopped onion, shrimp that has been rinsed, water chestnuts (rinsed), and mayonnaise. Stir together and add salt and pepper to taste.

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
6 medium cloves garlic, sliced, divided
4 cups small broccoli florets
½ cup diced red bell pepper
½ teaspoon salt, divided
½ teaspoon ground pepper, divided
1 pound peeled and deveined raw shrimp (21-30 count)
2 teaspoons lemon juice, plus more to taste

Steps:

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add half the garlic and cook until beginning to brown, about 1 minute. Add broccoli, bell pepper and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring once or twice and adding 1 tablespoon water if the pot is too dry, until the vegetables are tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and keep warm.
  • Increase heat to medium-high and add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the pot. Add the remaining garlic and cook until beginning to brown, about 1 minute. Add shrimp and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper; cook, stirring, until the shrimp are just cooked through, 3 to 5 minutes. Return the broccoli mixture to the pot along with lemon juice and stir to combine.

  • To begin, pat the shrimp dry and toss them with the old bay seasoning, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Now, heat the ghee over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add the shrimp to the pan and sear for ~3 minutes on both sides or until the shrimp is pink. Remove the shrimp from the heat, toss with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and set them aside.
  • Now, add the broccoli slaw, purple onions, bell peppers, cilantro, tomatoes and bacon to a large mixing bowl and aside.
  • Now, add all of the ingredients needed for the dressing to a small mixing bowl and whisk until creamy.
  • Add the dressing to the broccoli slaw mixture and toss to combine. Season with a couple pinches of sea salt to your desired taste. Transfer the salad to a serving dish and finish with the spicy shrimp. Garnish with lemon wedges and enjoy!
