HONEY-BOURBON GLAZED BACON



Honey-Bourbon Glazed Bacon image

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 cup clover honey
2 tablespoons bourbon
12 slices double-smoked, thick-cut bacon
Coarsely ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine the honey and bourbon in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Lay the bacon on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes. Brush with some of the honey-bourbon syrup. Continue roasting until deeply caramelized and crispy, another 10 to 15 minutes--the bacon will really crisp as it cools. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon pepper and serve.

Add incredible buttery richness to your steaks with this easy compound butter with Omaha Steaks Applewood Smoked Steak-Cut Bacon and bourbon. You'll mix up ingredients in the butter and store it in the fridge... then place a pat on top of your steaks for amazing results!

2 slices Omaha Steaks Applewood Smoked Steak Cut Bacon, finely chopped
1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon Kentucky bourbon
1 tablespoon maple syrup

Steps:

  • Preparation Cook bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat until crisp, stirring constantly. Remove the bacon and pour off the fat, reserving 1 tsp. Cool bacon and fat about 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, combine reserved fat, bacon pieces, butter, bourbon, and maple syrup with a fork, ensuring all ingredients are well blended. Place butter on the edge closest to you of a sheet of parchment or wax paper. Fold paper over butter and roll into a cylinder. Twist the ends of the paper and refrigerate until solid. When ready to serve, cut the chilled butter into slices and place on top of steak, seafood, or anything else you want to provide with a boost of flavor. Unused butter can be kept in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.

This savory bourbon butter made with fresh parsley and a touch of lemon zest is the perfect addition to grilled steaks, pork chops, or even hot biscuits.

4 sticks salted butter, softened, divided
1 large shallot, minced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
¾ cup bourbon
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 ½ teaspoons lemon zest
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; simmer, stirring frequently, until butter is browned, fragrant, and foamy, with brown bits in it, 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add shallot and garlic and saute until soft, about 5 minutes. Whisk in bourbon until combined, then cook until reduced, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the stove and cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
  • Combine remaining 3 sticks plus 5 tablespoons butter, parsley, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl. Add cooled bourbon-butter mixture and beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Season with salt.
  • Transfer butter to a sheet of waxed paper and roll into a log. Refrigerate until fully chilled, 2 to 3 hours. Use as desired.
