Red Velvet Cupcakes

Gentle & fluffy, completely moist Crimson Velvet Cupcakes topped with tangy cream cheese frosting. The one purple velvet recipe you want!

For the Cupcakes

  • 1 1/Three cups cake flour*
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/four teaspoon salt
  • 1/Three cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 3/four cup white sugar
  • 1 giant eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon purple meals coloring liquid or gel
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk**
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons distilled vinegar
  • 3/four teaspoon baking soda

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • eight ozcream cheese room temperature, eight oz
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/four teaspoon salt
  • Three cups powdered sugar
  • 1/four cup cornstarch non-obligatory

  1. Crimson Velvet Cupcakes
  2. Preheat the oven to 350F levels. Line a muffin pan with muffin papers. 
  3. In a big bowl sift collectively the cake flour, cocoa and salt. Whisk gently. 
  4. In a separate giant bowl beat the butter till fluffy (about 2 minutes). Then beat within the sugar till creamy (about 1-2 extra minutes).
