BLACK EYED PEAS WITH SMOKED NECKBONES IN CROCKPOT

Black eyed peas with smoked neckbones in CrockPot image

I prefer to make my black eyed peas in a crock pot so the peas stay intact.

Ingredients

1 lb black-eyed peas, dried
3-4 smoked pork neckbones
1 onion, chopped
4 clove garlic, chopped fine
1 tsp oregano, dried
1 tsp thyme, dried
2 bay leaves, dried
seasoning salt
onion powder
black pepper
1 tsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

1. Add black eyed peas, neck bones, chopped onion, garlic and herbs to the crock pot. Season lightly with seasoning salt onion powder and black pepper.
2. Fill pot almost to the top and turn crock pot on high and cook for 8-10 hours
3. Remove meat from neck bones and discard bones.
4. When peas are done add Worcestershire sauce taste and season to taste.
5. Serve with rice and cornbread
