BEEF AND BEAN POT PIE
Try a delicious cousin to chicken pot pie. Family-favorite beef and beans make good partners to a Bisquick® topping.

- Heat oven to 375°F. Grease bottom and side of 1 1/2-quart round casserole with shortening. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, brown sugar and onion. Pour into casserole; set aside.
- In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes. On surface dusted with Bisquick mix, gently roll dough in Bisquick to coat. Shape dough into ball; knead about 10 times or until smooth. Pat ball into 7 1/2-inch round or round the size of top of casserole. Place on beef mixture in casserole.
- Bake uncovered 15 to 20 minutes or until crust is light brown.

BEEF & BEAN HOTPOT

Steps:
- Heat a large non-stick pan, add the beef then fry over a medium-high heat until browned, stirring often and breaking up any lumps with a spoon. Crumble in the stock cube and mix well.
- Add the vegetables, stir to mix with the beef and pour in enough boiling water (about 1.3 litres) to cover. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and stir well. Cover the pan and simmer gently for about 30 mins or until the vegetables are tender.
- Tip in the baked beans, sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce or Tabasco to taste, stir well and heat through. Taste for seasoning and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with extra Worcestershire sauce or Tabasco, for those who like a peppery hot taste.

- In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain., Transfer beef mixture to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Drain one can of tomatoes, discarding liquid; add to slow cooker. Stir in beans, chili powder, cumin, salt and remaining tomatoes. Cook, covered, on low 6-8 hours to allow flavors to blend., Mash beans to desired consistency. Serve with toppings as desired., Freeze option: Freeze cooled chili in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if necessary.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, saute the ground beef, onion and bacon for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the meat is browned and the onion is translucent; drain excess fat.
- In a 3 quart casserole dish combine the vinegar mustard ketchup brown sugar green bell pepper kidney beans chili beans pork and beans and the meat mixture.
- Stir together until well blended.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes, remove from oven and top with cheese and crushed corn chips.
