1 cup cold milk
2 oranges, peeled and segmented
1 banana
¼ cup sugar
1 pinch salt
½ (8 ounce) container vanilla fat-free yogurt
4 cubes ice

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine milk, oranges, banana, sugar, salt and yogurt. Blend for about 1 minute. Insert ice cubes, and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Sometimes it tastes like Fruit Loops® cereal, but, of course, this is actually good for you. My 14-month-old loves this for breakfast. Furthermore, he can feed himself (with a sippy cup) while I make breakfast and lunch for the older kids. The texture is similar to pudding. If runnier texture is desired, add ice or milk.

1 orange, peeled
½ cup water
1 leaf kale, torn into several pieces
2 ripe bananas, peeled

Steps:

  • Blend the orange in a blender until mostly juice.
  • Add the water and kale; blend again on High speed until kale is liquefied.
  • Break the bananas into chunks and add to the blender. Start blending on a lower speed until the banana is incorporated. Increase speed to blend the mixture into a pudding-like texture.

1 cup orange juice
1/2 large mango
1 1/4 teaspoons ginger juice (see note below)
4 ice cubes
Optional: 1/2 ripe banana (about 2 ounces peeled banana)

Steps:

  • Combine the orange juice, mango, ginger juice and ice cubes in a blender. Blend until frothy and smooth. If you want a thicker drink, add the banana. Serve right away for the best flavor.
