Wondering how restaurants get those perfect potatoes? Here's the hints on how to make the best oven baked potatoes with salty, crispy skin and fluffy potato inside.

4 large Russet potatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425ºF.
  • Wash and dry the potatoes.
  • Pierce the potato 2-3 times with a fork (See notes in article above!)
  • Rub oil all over the potatoes (or choose one of the other options above to rub on the outside).
  • Rub salt all over the potatoes. We prefer coarse sea salt or pink himalayan salt.
  • Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes.
  • The exact baking time will depend on how large the potatoes are. The potato should be tender inside if you poke a fork into it.
  • Serve with butter, cheese, chives, sour cream and all of your favorite toppings!

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1 small egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter, softened
5 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
1 cup grape preserves
1/4 cup boysenberry syrup

Steps:

  • Mix all of the dry ingredients, for the crust, together in a bowl. Add the beaten egg and the butter, and mix well until thoroughly combined.
  • Combine all of the filling ingredients in a medium bowl.
  • Mix all of the dry ingredients for the crisp in a bowl, then add the butter and mix until "crumbly."
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Put the crust into the bottom of a warmed cast iron pan, forming a crust that comes up the sides of the pan. Add the filling and spread evenly. Trim any remaining crust that rises above the peanut butter mixture. Top with the crisp mixture and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Mix the ice cream, preserves, and syrup until combined. Put the mixture in the freezer to harden and serve with the PB crisp.

Potato Chip Chicken Fingers and Baked Potatoes a la Mode image

1 whole boneless, skinless chicken breast
5 to 6 ounces potato chips, plain, barbecue, or sour cream
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Cut the chicken into finger-size pieces. Fill a large, re-sealable plastic bag with the potato chips, seal the bag, and crush the chips with the back of a wooden spoon.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk. Dip the chicken pieces into the egg mixture, then into the bag. Shake gently to cover. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, flipping once during the cooking time. Serve with barbecue sauce, salsa, or honey mustard.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Scrub the potato, and pierce the skin several times with a knife or fork. Rub the skin with olive oil, then with salt.
  • Place the potato in the preheated oven, and bake for 90 minutes, or until slightly soft and golden brown. Slice the potato down the center, and serve with butter and black pepper. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top, if desired.
