- Preheat oven to 450°. Place fries on an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan; drizzle with oil and toss to coat. Bake according to package directions., Divide fries among four 2-cup baking dishes; top each with chili and cheese. Bake until cheese is melted, 5-7 minutes. Serve with toppings as desired.

BEST BAKED FRENCH FRIES
The healthiest way to make fries is to bake them. It saves money and you can't beat the taste. I have been playing around with different ways to bake fries for some time now, and I feel this is the best recipe thus far. Baking time may vary depending on how thick you cut the fries. Enjoy!

- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; spray with cooking spray.
- Place sliced potatoes in a colander; sprinkle sugar over potatoes. Set aside until liquid is released from potatoes, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain liquid and dry potatoes well.
- Mix potato slices, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a resealable bag until evenly coated. Spread coated potato slices in a single layer, leaving space around each potato, on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes; flip fries and continue baking until crisp and browned, about 20 more minutes.

- Cut potato into thick wedges. Mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder and onion powder together. Coat potatoes with oil-spice mixture and place on a baking sheet.

- Preheat oven to 400. Remove seeds from peppers and cut in 1/2 inch lengthwise strips.
- Set up a breading station: 1 pan of 1 cup of flour; 1 pan of beaten eggs with milk, 2 tbsp flour and mustard; and 1 pan of breadcrumbs seasoned with cheese, garlic powder, cajun seasoning and salt and pepper.
- Coat the peppers in the flour, then in the egg mixture and then in breadcrumbs. Arrange the chili fries on nonstick baking sheet and roast for 18 minutes, turning once.
- Remove from oven and serve.
BAKED SMOKED CHILI FRIES
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Place potatoes, chili powder, salt, pepper, and oil in plastic bag. Shake vigorously to coat potatoes evenly with all ingredients. Spread out on a cookie sheet. Do not over crowd or overlap potatoes or they will steam. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, turning once, until golden and cooked through.
- Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes. They will come off tray easily.

CHILI FRIES
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Lay fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, until crisp and golden.
- In a large pot over medium heat, break up ground beef and brown, stirring constantly to break up all the clumps to fine ground.
- Add remaining ingredients through the onion powder. Bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve hot fries on a plate smothered with chili and topped with shredded cheese, if using.
