Pork Ribs With Barbecue Sauce image

For spicier ribs, coat them with your favorite chile rub before wrapping in foil and baking.

2 slabs (about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds each) baby-back pork ribs
Coarse salt and ground pepper
Vegetable oil, for grates
Barbecue Sauce(1/2 cup)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season ribs all over with salt and pepper. Stack slabs on a large piece of heavy-duty foil; seal tightly, and place on a rimmed baking sheet. Cook until meat is fork-tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Heat grill to medium-high; lightly oil grates. Remove ribs from foil (discard foil); brush with sauce, coating rounded side well. Grill until nicely browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Serve with more sauce.

1 rack baby back pork ribs (or other kinds, but baby back ribs are the most tender)
Dry Rub
Classic Homemade Barbecue Sauce, or similar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place 1 rack of baby back pork ribs on a large piece of foil. Sprinkle liberally with kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Place fat side up on the foil. Cover ribs with a second piece of foil and fold each edge tightly so moisture is sealed in. Bake in preheated over for 1 hour. Remove ribs from oven and unwrap foil. Brush with Classic Homemade Barbecue Sauce, or similar and place fat side down. Return ribs to oven, foil still open. Cook 20 minutes. Brush with barbecue sauce again, cut, and serve. Enjoy!

2 pounds beef short ribs
⅓ cup soy sauce
¾ cup red wine
½ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ cup brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pinch curry powder

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in a large pot, and fill with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). In a medium bowl, stir together the soy sauce, red wine, olive oil, flour, brown sugar, garlic and curry powder.
  • Drain the ribs, and coat generously with the sauce. Arrange them on a baking sheet.
  • Roast for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until fork tender. Pour the remainder of the sauce over the ribs about halfway through.

2 ½ quarts water
6 cloves garlic, crushed
½ onion, chopped
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
2 tablespoons kosher salt
½ cup rice vinegar
1 (2 pound) slab baby back ribs, cut into individual ribs
1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
1 ½ tablespoons rice vinegar
1 ½ tablespoons sambal oelek chili paste
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 ½ tablespoons ketchup
1 ½ tablespoons honey
1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

Steps:

  • Mix together water, garlic, onion, bay leaves, red chili flakes, Chinese five-spice, salt, and rice vinegar in a large pot. Bring to a boil, turn to low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Place ribs in the simmering broth. Return to a simmer, turn heat to low, and cook for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat, or coat with cooking spray.
  • Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sambal oelek chili paste, Dijon mustard, ketchup, honey, brown sugar, and Chinese five-spice powder in a large bowl.
  • Remove the ribs from the broth and transfer them to the bowl with the soy sauce glaze. Toss to coat.
  • Transfer glazed ribs to the prepared baking sheet. Reserve extra glaze for brushing.
  • Bake ribs in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Turn the ribs and brush with more glaze. Cook 15-20 more minutes, brushing occasionally with remaining glaze if desired. Remove and serve.
