This pleasing pasta salad is like eating a BLT in a bowl. Filled with crispy bacon, chopped tomato, celery and green onion, the sensational salad is coated with a tangy mayonnaise and vinegar dressing. It's a real crowd-pleaser! -Norene Wright, Manilla, Indiana

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 large tomato, finely chopped
2 celery ribs, finely chopped
5 green onions, finely chopped
1-1/4 cups mayonnaise
5 teaspoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. Transfer to a large bowl; stir in tomato, celery and green onions., In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, vinegar, salt and pepper. Pour over macaroni mixture and toss to coat. Refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours. Just before serving, stir in bacon.

2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
3/4 cup coleslaw salad dressing

  • In a large bowl, combine lettuce blend and tomatoes. Drizzle with dressing; sprinkle with cheese and bacon.

Inspired by another macaroni salad and some nudging from my sister, this is what I came up with. :)* The cook time on this is boiling the macaroni and frying up the bacon, which I did simultaneously ;)

3 cups macaroni, cooked
8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
1/4 cup onion, finely diced
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup cucumber, finely chopped
1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • Mix cooked macaroni, bacon, onion, celery, cucumber and tomato.
  • Toss with mayonnaise.
  • Add balsamic vinegar. Toss to coat.
  • You could mix the mayo and vinegar first, then put it on , it would ensure even distribution of the vinegar I guess! :).

Skip the sandwich and serve bacon, arugula and tomato with pasta.

10 slices bacon, finely chopped
1/3 cup olive oil
Kosher salt and finely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 small shallot, minced
8 ounces dried orecchiette
2 cups loosely packed arugula
1 cup torn fresh basil leaves
3 medium vine-ripe tomatoes, chopped

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Put the bacon in a large, cold skillet then cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain. Set aside.
  • Whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, shallot, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper in a large bowl.
  • Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to the package directions. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool; add to the bowl with the dressing.
  • Add the arugula, basil and tomatoes to the bowl and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper and top with the bacon. The pasta salad is best if served right away.

1 pound sliced bacon
1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup cider vinegar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 large cucumber, peeled and chopped
4 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
½ cup chopped celery
½ cup sliced green olives

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni pasta, and cook until al dente, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until the sugar has dissolved. Add the bacon, pasta, tomato, cucumber, egg, and celery. Gently fold until the salad is evenly covered with the dressing. Sprinkle with the sliced olives to serve.

Make a summer pasta salad to serve as a main meal or side dish. It's made with bacon, spinach, tomato and basil, and a delicious honey and mustard dressing

300g penne or farfalle (use wholemeal, if you like)
200g natural yogurt
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp honey
1 garlic clove , crushed
1 lemon , zested
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
4 large tomatoes , roughly chopped
large handful of baby leaf spinach , roughly chopped
small bunch of basil , leaves chopped
6 cooked smoked bacon rashers

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta in a large pan of boiling water following pack instructions. Drain and run under cold water until completely cool.
  • Meanwhile, mix the yogurt, mustard, honey, garlic, lemon zest, olive oil and some seasoning together in a large bowl. Toss the cooked pasta with the dressing, tomatoes, spinach and basil. Keep chilled until ready to serve, then crumble over the bacon.

This is a Recipe my Grams used to make. Fairly simple yet tasty. She never used measurements so I'm just gonna list them as what I think they are. As always taste, taste, taste, and adjust accordingly to your preference.

1 lb macaroni
1 lb bacon, cut into . 5 inch pieces
2 onions, chopped
1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon dried dill
1 tablespoon garlic powder
pepper

Steps:

  • Fry up bacon and onions.
  • Add can of tomatoes and squash.
  • Bring to simmer then cook for 1/2 hours.
  • Add salt, pepper, dill and garlic powder let it simmer
  • Cook macaroni When done add to tomato bacon mixture.
