Bursting with flavor, these Asian-inspired snap peas can be served hot as a side dish or chilled as a quick appetizer!

1 pound sugar snap peas, trimmed
3 tablespoons garlic flavored olive oil
¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
¼ teaspoon sesame oil
2 drops chili oil
¼ teaspoon packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven broiler, and move oven rack into the top position.
  • Place the snap peas onto a baking pan, drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat. Spread the snap peas out into a single layer.
  • Broil the snap peas in the preheated oven until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, chili oil, brown sugar, and sesame seeds in a large bowl. When the snap peas come out of the oven, toss them immediately with the sauce.

2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oriental sesame oil
1 tablespoon (packed) golden brown sugar
1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook shelled peas in large saucepan of boiling salted water until almost tender, about 1 1/2 minutes. Add sugar snap peas to same pan and continue boiling 30 seconds. Drain; rinse under cold water and drain again. Transfer to large bowl. Whisk vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper in small bowl to blend. (Peas and dressing can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Let stand separately at room temperature.) Pour dressing over peas in large bowl; toss to coat. 1 pound fresh sugar snap peas
2 teaspoons canola oil
1 garlic clove, minced
2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot
1-1/2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Dash cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted

Steps:

  • In a large nonstick skillet or wok, saute the peas in canola oil until crisp-tender. Add the garlic, ginger, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil and cayenne; saute 1 minute longer. Add basil; toss to combine. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

1/4 cup soy sauce, low sodium
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
