1 cup applesauce
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons lemon juice (unless the applesauce is tart)
1 9 inch pie shell

Steps:

  • Mix all of the ingredients.
  • Pour into a 9" pie shell and bake in a 350 degree oven or 45 minutes.

1 (9 inch) pie shell
¼ cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups applesauce
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a medium mixing bowl combine butter or margarine, sugar, and eggs. Beat until smooth. Add applesauce and vanilla. Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour custard mixture into pie shell. Sprinkle top lightly with cinnamon.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until set in center.

Freezer apple pie filling. With this recipe, you can treat your family with pies year-round.

18 cups thinly sliced apples
3 tablespoons lemon juice
10 cups water
4 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup cornstarch
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice and set aside. Pour water into a Dutch oven over medium heat. Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl; add to water, stir well, and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add apples and return to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until apples are tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes.
  • Ladle into 5 freezer containers, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Cool at room temperature no longer than 1 1/2 hours.
  • Seal and freeze. Can be stored for up to 12 months.

1 (9 inch) graham cracker pie crust
3 eggs
5 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon butter, softened

Steps:

  • Combine the sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon and the eggs. Beat until smooth.
  • Fold the applesauce and vanilla into the egg mixture and stir until well blended.
  • Pour into graham cracker crust.
  • Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and place the pie in a preheated 450 degrees F oven for 15 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F and bake for another 30 minutes or until the center is set.

  • Bake on lowest oven rack at 425° for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden, shielding pie with aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning, if necessary. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
