A friend of mine posted this on her facebook page and I thought I'd give it a try. It's easy to make, does not use harsh or poisonous chemicals, recycle your plastic bottles and kill mosquitoes all in one! That's a win win in my book! I have no pics as I haven't tried this yet. But will be making them shortly. Just wanted to share this with all of you so you can start conquering your mosquitoes!!

Number Of Ingredients 5

Ingredients

1 cup(s) water
1/4 cup(s) brown sugar
1 gram(s) yeast
1 - empty 2-liter bottle
- black electrical tape

Steps:

Cut plastic bottle in half.
Microwave or heat water on stove so it's hot - not boiling. Mix brown sugar with the hot water and let cool. When cool, pour it in the bottom half of the plastic bottle.
Add the yeast. No need to mix. It creates carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes.
Place the funnel part of the plastic bottle upside down into the bottom half of the plastic bottle. Tape them together with BLACK electrical tape. Wraping black tape will help attract more mosquitoes as they are attracted to dark colors.
Leave the top of the plastic bottle uncovered and place it outside in an area away from your normal gathering areas.

Amish Flying Insect Trap. The first trap we decided to try was the Amish Flying Insect Trap. We found a few different variations online, but they all contained the same ingredients, just the container, and location to place them changed.
Brown Sugar & Yeast Bottle Trap. The next trap that was tested was the Brown Sugar & Yeast Bottle Trap. This trap consisted of a two-liter bottle with the top 1/3rd cut and inverted back into the bottle.
Vinegar & Baking Soda Bottle Trap. The next trap was the Vinegar and Baking Soda Bottle Trap. This trap is made the same way as the Brown Sugar & Yeast Bottle Trap, by cutting the top off a 2-liter bottle and inverting it into the bottom to create a funnel.
Dish Soap & Light Trap. This trap has a different design than the first three. This trap uses a container filled with water and dish soap, with a light to attract the mosquitoes.
Vinegar & Dish Soap Bottle Trap. The next trap we tried was another bottle trap. The Vinegar & Dish Soap Bottle Trap uses the same design as the Vinegar and Baking Soda and the Brown Sugar & Yeast traps.
