1/2 cup butter
8 ounces cream cheese
1 pint heavy cream
1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt
black pepper
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese (preferably fresh)
1 lb fettuccine, prepared as directed

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
  • When butter is melted, add cream cheese.
  • When the cream cheese is softened, add heavy cream.
  • Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer for 15-20 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in parmesan.
  • Serve over hot fettucine noodles.

8 ounces cream cheese, cut in bits
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces fettuccine

Steps:

  • Cook and drain the pasta according to package directions.
  • In large saucepan combine cream cheese, Parmesan, butter and milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well.
  • Leftovers freeze well.

This is an awesome "knock-off" I found on the internet. The only thing I changed was adding a little extra milk, to make the sauce thinner. If you like it thicker, it's easy to adjust the amount of milk. I also like to add a dash of nutmeg, to complete the flavour. The best I've found yet!

3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
1 dash nutmeg (optional)
8 ounces dry fettuccine, cooked and drained

Steps:

  • In large saucepan combine cream cheese, parmesan, butter and milk.
  • Stir constantly, cooking gently over med/low heat, until smooth and thickened.
  • Add nutmeg, if desired.
  • Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well.
  • Serve.
