- Preheat the oven and prep the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter or spray a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Store the cake: You can make this cake a day or two in advance. Remove the cake from the pan and cover with plastic wrap. Keep it on the counter at room temperature. To freeze the cake, wrap it in plastic, followed by foil.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together 1/4 cup butter and 1/3 cup of sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla until well blended. Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, salt and baking powder; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Spread evenly in a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a small bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons flour, 5 tablespoons sugar, and cinnamon. Add 2 tablespoons of butter, and pinch into the dry mixture using your fingers until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over the top of the cake.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

- For this recipe, you will need a cup, fork, 1-cup measure, mixing spoon, Tablespoon, teaspoon, 9-inch glass pie plate, and a knife.
- First you will want to crack your egg into a cup and beat it.
- In your pie plate, put 2 cups of bisquick, the egg, water, and 1/3cup sugar; stir until mixture is smooth.
- With a knife, cut your butter or margarine into small pieces and drop it on to the top of the batter.
- Sprinkle the top with 2 Tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Cook, uncovered in your microwave for 10 minutes.
- Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes and serve.

- Into a mixing bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Cut butter into the dry ingredients with a fork or pastry blender.
- In a separate bowl combine egg with milk; add to flour mixture.
- Stir until mixture is well blended and smooth.
- Spoon into a greased and floured 9-inch layer pan.
- Spread dough evenly.
- Brush top of dough with melted butter.
- Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon; sift over the top of the cake, spreading with a fork to cover dough evenly.
- Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cut coffee cake in wedges; serve warm from the pan.
