TURKEY SAUSAGE, PEPPER AND ONION SKILLET

Turkey Sausage, Pepper and Onion Skillet image

Meet weeknight cooking at its best! Combining a few flavorful ingredients (Italian sausage, onions, garlic) with pantry staples (Muir Glen™ crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning) and utilizing a simple cooking technique (grab that skillet), this recipe builds flavor with every step. Here's what we mean: Onions and peppers are sautéed in the drippings left behind from cooking the sausage. Aromatic garlic and Italian seasoning get added toward the end, so they have time to bloom (open up) without getting overcooked. Acidic tomatoes help release any flavor stuck to the bottom of the pan after the other ingredients have been cooked, to the benefit of the entire dish (and the dishwasher!). So the end result is a single-dish dinner alive with richly spiced sausage, silky cooked vegetables and swimming in a tomatoey pan sauce.

SAUSAGE POTATO SALAD

Sausage Potato Salad image

"I like making this cool potato recipe on warm days. I reduced the oil quite a bit and added a little more honey mustard, giving it a richer taste. Sausage, too, adds good flavor to this hearty salad!" Ginette Starshak - Decatur, Illinois

PRESSURE COOKER GERMAN POTATO SALAD WITH SAUSAGE

Pressure Cooker German Potato Salad With Sausage image

quick creamy german potato salad that is made in a pressure cooker. It is take out of the "The Pressure Cooker Cookbook" by Toula Patsalis. I use lower fat turkey sausage. I have tried regular sausage in this recipe and it makes the salad too greasy. I normally dice the radishes and bell peppers in small pieces. I use about a half a pepper. I have substituted regular yellow mustard for dry mustard. Black pepper seems to be ok to use as well.

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl toss potatoes and onions (try to leave onions in chunks) with olive oil, thyme, garlic powder and season lightly with salt (the sausage is pretty salt so you don't need to add a ton of salt to this dish) and pepper.
  • Pour and spread into an even layer onto prepared baking dish. Roasted in preheated oven 20 minutes.
  • Remove baking sheet from oven (at this point there should be a little excess oil on the baking sheet if not you can drizzle over another 1 Tbsp), add sliced sausage and bell peppers and toss everything.
