Need a little trip to the tropics? Make classic Chex® cereal mix using tropical fruits, coconut and macadamia nuts. You can do it all in 30 minutes.

Steps:
- In large microwavable bowl, mix cereal, coconut, banana chips, tropical fruit mix and nuts.
- In microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in brown sugar and pineapple juice concentrate. Microwave uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until hot; stir. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
- Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, until mixture begins to brown.Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Arrange the bacon in a single layer on a rack set over a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, until the bacon is crisp. Drain on paper towels and cut into 1/2-inch strips.
- 2. In a bowl, toss the bacon with the peanuts, pineapple, sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, and cayenne. Spread on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, stirring once, until the bacon is browned. Season the mix with salt and stir occasionally until cool, then serve.
TROPICAL HONEY SNACK MIX
Offer them a snack mix they can't refuse-this tropical goodie, part sweet, part salty. It's ready in mere minutes, but keeps for up to two weeks.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with foil. In 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, honey, ginger and salt. Cook about 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until bubbly.
- Add remaining ingredients. Cook about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until all ingredients are coated. Spread mixture in thin layer in foil-lined pan.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bubbly and lightly browned. On unlined cookie sheet, spread mixture in thin layer. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Store in airtight container up to 2 weeks.

TROPICAL POPCORN SNACK MIX
This is somewhat healthy and totally different from the snack mixes you are used to. It has dried fruit and popcorn, giving you some fiber and fruit.

- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
- First pop the 1/2 cup unpopped corn kernels, then set aside.
- In a heavy saucepan, put the butter, corn syrup, cream of coconut, and brown sugar. Boil over moderate heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Combine the popcorn, coconut, dates, dried pineapples and dried banana chips in a large plastic bowl sprayed with non-stick spray. (That works best-the plastic bowl, as the syrup will not stick to the sides if you spray it first, making it easier to combine the ingredients.).
- Stir to mix and pour onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes.

TROPICAL SNACK MIX
This is a recipe I made up myself. My whole family likes it. I have gotten dried pineapple at Sam's Club.

Steps:
- Pop the popcorn on the stove or skillet. DO NOT air pop.
- Pour into a large bowl that you can seal and let the popcorn cool.
- Add pineapple, raisins, almonds, and sunflower seeds to popcorn. Stir thoroughly.
- While popcorn is cooling, melt butter and mix in brown sugar and cinnamon to taste.
- Boil for 1 minute only.
- Remove from heat and add flax seed and vanilla; mix well.
- Pour over the popcorn mixture and use a rubber spatula to mix from the bottom up, like folding in ingredients. The seeds tend to fall to the bottom.
- Let dry and enjoy. Makes a big bowl.
