Trail Mix image

With nuts, raisins, M&M's and coconut, this is a super snack. In small gingham bags, it made wonderful party favors for each guest at the cowboy-theme wedding shower I hosted. This mix is a tasty treat anytime. -Sandra Thorn, Sonora, California

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pounds dry roasted peanuts
2 pounds cashews
1 pound raisins
1 pound M&M's
1/2 pound sweetened shredded coconut

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Store in an airtight container.

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cups miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 cups Cheerios™ cereal
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup sunflower nuts
10 wooden sticks with rounded ends

Steps:

  • Cover cookie sheet with waxed paper. In 3-quart saucepan, heat marshmallows and butter over low heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in peanut butter until blended. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cereal, raisins and nuts until evenly coated. Let stand 2 minutes. Shape into 2-inch balls. Insert wooden stick into middle of each ball. Place on waxed paper. Let stand about 30 minutes or until firm. Store balls wrapped in plastic wrap.
