Why have frozen chicken nuggets when you can have them fresh and homemade? They come out perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, thanks to the air fryer.

1 cup buttermilk
2 pounds chicken tenderloins, cut into nugget size
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 eggs
2 cups panko bread crumbs
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Mix buttermilk and chicken in a large bowl and let soak while you prepare the seasoned flour.
  • Combine flour, Parmesan cheese, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Beat eggs in a separate bowl. Pour bread crumbs onto a flat plate.
  • Dredge each chicken nugget first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray the basket with cooking spray. Place as many nuggets into the basket as you can without overcrowding. Lightly mist the tops of the nuggets with cooking spray.
  • Cook for 10 minutes. Flip chicken nuggets and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove and repeat with remaining nuggets.

These tender chicken nuggets are crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Poultry seasoning contains thyme, sage, marjoram, rosemary, and nutmeg which adds flavor to the breading. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, like honey mustard or barbecue sauce. With these air fryer recipe, chicken nuggets aren't just for kids anymore.

1-1 1/2 pound(s) chicken tenders
1 1/2 cup(s) Italian bread crumbs
1/2 cup(s) Panko bread crumbs
1 cup(s) buttermilk
3/4 teaspoon(s) poultry seasoning
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/8 teaspoon(s) black pepper
- olive oil spray

Steps:

  • Cut chicken tenders into smaller pieces. Remove tendons.
  • Place chicken nuggets in buttermilk. Soak for at least an hour (the longer the better; even overnight).
  • Preheat the air fryer to 390.
  • Mix together the Italian bread crumbs, Panko bread crumbs, and seasonings. Roll the chicken pieces in the mixture.
  • Spray one side of the chicken pieces in olive oil spray. Place the chicken in the air fryer oil side down in one layer. Then spray the opposite side with olive oil.
  • Cook for 4 minutes, then flip nuggets. Cook for an additional 4 minutes.
  • Remove from the air fryer. Sprinkle with additional salt, if desired.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Air fryer chicken nuggets are absolute perfection! They are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and are just waiting to be dipped in any of your favorite sauces! Your family will go crazy over them!

1 pound chicken breast (cubed)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup olive oil or melted butter
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup Panko
2/3 cup grated parmesan
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • In a small bowl whisk together the flour, salt and pepper. In a separate small bowl whisk the oil and minced garlic. In another small bowl combine the Panko, parmesan, parsley, and paprika.
  • Place the tenders in the flour mixture, then the oil, and lastly the Panko. Make sure to evenly coat each one.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the tenders inside.
  • Cook the at 400 degrees for 7 minutes, then flip and cook another 7-10 minutes until crispy.
  • Serve warm with homemade honey mustard
