SUPER JERKY DOG/CAT/FERRET TREATS

Steps:

• Grind up ingredients using a meat grinder. (the meat market may do this for you if you don't have one).
• Add the tuna to the grinder, or grind up in a food processor.
• Mix thoroughly and fill a piping bag (no tip). Don't worry -- it will look more appealing to the furry friends than it will to you!
• You can also fill a ziploc bag 1/2 full, and cut the corner.
• Pipe the mixture onto a lined dehydrator tray in a spiral. If you don't have a special tray liner, then do what I do. Place a clean trash bag over the tray. After the food is applied, cut away the extra (don't forget the center circle).
• Find a nice safe place away from critters, but preferrably out of the house (we use the garage, or right outside the kitchen window on a high table to keep an eye on it).
• On the highest heat setting, dry until the top is dry to the touch. Peel off the plastic, and turn over (the plastic is no longer needed). Dry until it feels like jerky. You're safer to go a little too long than under dry. Allow to cool before making your final decision if it is dry.
• Cut into jerky pieces using kitchen scissors.
• Keep out a small baggie full, and store in the fridge.
• Spread the remaining out on cookie sheets. Freeze. Then, place in freezer bags for long term storage.

• Add any of the following meats in fun combination:.
• Cow or pork kidneys.
• Pork liver.
• Gizzards.
• Ground chicken bones (available online).
• Fresh fish such as salmon (COOK FIRST).
• Fresh plain yogurt for cats (dehydrates beautifully).
• The canned tuna adds just a little bit of salt. If you use more canned fish, watch the salt content, and don't add too much.

PET FERRET'S SOUP

Steps:

• Place meats into a large stock pot.
• cover with water.
• bring to a boil.
• Reduce heat to simmer.
• Simmer for 5 to 8 hours adding water to your both when needed.
• Turn off heat.
• Strain broth, remove meat, discard bones and ALL FAT, set aside.
• Note: this should make around 7 cups of both more or less.
• In a large saucepan melt lard over low heat, add tapioca starch and stir.
• Stir milk into lard
• add broth to lard/milk stir.
• Separate eggs and beat.
• Add some warm soup (broth/lard/milk mixture) to egg yolks, stir.
• add egg yolk mix to the soup.
• Stir for 30 sec.
• Stir egg whites and ferret kibble into soup.
• heat for 2 min with constance string and cool for 1 hour.
• stir off and on when cooling soup.
• Shred up meat well!
• in a blender blend 4 parts soup, 3 parts water, 2 parts shredded meat for 10 to 20 sec and freeze ( this should make about 2 gallons of condense soup. I freeze mine in 20 one quart zip lock bags.)
• unfreeze 2 tablespoons of soup in microwave add 2 tablespoons of water. (per ferret).
• test heat, when lukewarm serve to your lucky little ferret.

IT'S RAINING CAT AND DOG BALLS! (TREATS)

Steps:

• Mix dry ingredients together, then stir in honey and ground beef until well combined.
• Form 3/4-inch to 1-inch balls and bake on greased cookie sheet or silicon sheet at 350F for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. They might cook fast, so check frequently.
• Cool completely and serve. Break up large pieces for tiny cat mouths.

° PUMPKIN PLUS ° PET BUNNY RABBIT TREATS

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375°F.
• Combine dry ingredients in one bowl, wet in another.
• Add the dry ingredients to the wet in 1/2 cup increments and blend with a hand mixer.
• Pull off a large chunk of dough, sprinkle with a little flour, and roll it out to 1/8-inch-thick on top of either a silicone baking mat (i.e. Silpat) or parchment paper. You're going to roll it so thinly that you won't be able to move it from the surface you've rolled it on, so one of these two items is really necessary.
• Score the rolled out dough with a large chef's knife to make 1-inch squares. You'll be able to more easily snap the cooked treats apart later.
• With a toothpick, poke a hole in the center of each square. This will help prevent the treats from puffing up too much.
• Transfer the silicone baking mat or parchment paper with the treats to a baking sheet for stability and bake for 20 minutes or until crispy.
• While you don't want them burnt, you also don't want soft spots. Some of the treats in the center of the rolled out dough might need an extra few minutes. Alternately, you can let them dry further in the oven for an hour or so after you turn it off. Completely dried treats store better/longer!
• Cool treats completely, break apart, and store in an airtight container.
• Give no more than 1-2 treats daily and adore your appreciative bunny!

CATNIP TUNA KITTY TREATS

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350F and spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
• In large bowl, mash the tuna so that there are no large lumps.
• Mix flour and milk in the tuna until throughly combined.
• Add water and oil, mix well.
• Beat an egg until foamy, add and combine throughly.
• Expect the dough mix to be sticky.
• Shape dough into tiny balls- about the size of a small marble.
• Roll the balls in finely crushed dry catnip (I usually rub the catnip between my hands to crush it).
• Place the balls on the cookie sheet and flatten slightly.
• Bake for 10 minutes then remove them from oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
• Turn treats over and bake 10 more minutes or until browned.
• Cool treats completely before giving any to your pet.
• Store in air tight container in the refrigerator or a cool dry place.
