WHERE IT ALL BEGAN – CYCLING 5.56 SUBSONIC – I.Q. MUNITIONS
Web Sep 1, 2019 Where It All Began – Cycling 5.56 Subsonic On: September 1, 2019 Back in the late 90’s, subsonic 5.56/223 ammo that would reliably cycle an unmodified M-16 or AR-15 was only a mythical beast, at least in the circles that I ran in. I understood the premise that a heavy-for-caliber bullet was needed but nothing off the shelf was readily available.

ANY RECIPES FOR 75 GR 556 SUBSONIC? - AR15.COM
Web Aug 4, 2023 I did a whole writeup on subsonic .223 somewhere in tech. Basically, I found that sub 223 with heavy grain bullets were 1 of 2 things: Not subsonic, or not stable. I got keyholing at 15 yards with 69 and 77 gr projectiles. NOT SUPRESSOR SAFE. cant have both, in my experience (subsonic and stable) with heavy grain projectiles.

SUBSONIC 5.56 / .223 - RIFLE/SHOTGUN - BRIAN ENOS'S FORUMS
Web May 5, 2016 A lot of people are usually not happy with the level of suppression on a .223 AR, which causes them to build a 300blk next. With the heavy 30 cal bullets, the rifles can be tuned to run both supersonic and subsonic ammo reliably and the subsonic type tend to be very quiet, like 119-123 db level, while supers run around 132-135.

Web Feb 3, 2022 21 Share Sort by: Open comment sort options Add a Comment _Swanky_Jay_ • 2 yr. ago Subsonic 556 has a lower velocity to keep it subsonic, so there is less force to operate the BCG and all that. SUBSONIC 5.56? : R/GUNS - REDDIT
Web Sep 29, 2011 5.56's only ally is velocity. Remove that and it's for all practical reasons a 22lr with a jacketed pointy tip. Hand loading it is about your only bet, or a 22lr conversion. SUBSONIC AMMO 5.56 223 THAT RELIABLY CYCLES AN AR - AR15.COM
