Why bother with toppings that slide right off when you can enjoy these delicious grilled Stuffed Bacon Jalapeno Cheddar Burgers with the toppings inside!

1 pound ground beef (grass fed preferred)
1 large jalapeno (thinly sliced with seeds)
1/2 cup cooked bacon pieces
1-2 ounces cheddar (grated)

Steps:

  • To form perfectly cooked patties, consider using a burger press.
  • Preheat grill or griddle to high heat. Divide ground beef equally into three portions. For each portion, take about 2/3 of it and form it into a very flat patty with sides (again, this is super easy if using the burger press). Divide the jalapeno, bacon pieces, and cheese into three equal portions. Add 1/2 of the toppings to the meat. With the remaining 1/3, form the meat into a thin circle and top patty, sealing all edges. The goal is to have only ground beef on the outside and all of the toppings in the middle.
  • Cook over a hot grill or griddle, 5-8 minutes per side, until done. Enjoy!

Jalapeño and cheddar stuffed cheeseburgers are the ultimate treat for lunch or dinner this grilling season. A juicy and delicious stuffed beef burger recipe that's bursting with flavour!

1/3 lb ground beef
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tbsp montreal steak spice
1 egg
1/4 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
1 jalapeño ( thinly chopped)
1 oz cheddar cheese (cubed)
2 slices Kraft singles
4 pieces bacon (cooked)
2 pieces lettuce
2 slices tomato
2 slices onion
1 tsp mayonnaise ((or toppings of choice))
2 gluten-free sesame seed hamburger buns (use low carb keto burger buns)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine beef, seasonings, egg and breadcrumbs and knead together with clean hands. Form 4 thin hamburger patties. On two of the patties, place cubes cheddar and chopped jalapeños in the centre, place a second beef patty on top, molding the edges together to form one burger patty.
  • Pan fry or grill the burgers 5-6 minutes per side on medium heat, only flipping once. No oil needed, use a non-stick frying pan. Before removing from the pan, place Kraft single slices on the burgers for a minute or two to melt.
  • Place burgers on a toasted bun, or bed of crispy lettuce, and top with tomato, onion, lettuce, and bacon. Spread mayo on the top bun and place on top to finish. Serve with your choice of side and enjoy!

BBQ Bacon Jalapeno Cheddar Stuffed Burgers are so delicious! Break out the grill and try one for yourself. You will be glad you did.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 small onion, chopped
2-3 jalapenos, stems and seeds removed, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
Your favorite BBQ sauce
8 Hamburger buns
Condiments and toppings of choice (BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc ...)

Steps:

  • Preheat your grill (direct grilling over high heat).
  • Meanwhile, in a medium skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and jalapeno and cook until softened. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Divide each of the 8 portions in half - for a total of 16 chunks of ground beef. On waxed paper, flatten 8 of the chunks of ground beef into thin patty shapes.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the bacon, cheese and the veggie mixture. Mix well. Place about ¼ cup of the mixture in the center of each of the 8 patties.
  • Take the other 8 chunks of ground beef and flatten slightly between your hands and place one portion on top of one the patties with the bacon, cheese and veggie mixture. Carefully seal the 2 beef patties together. Season the top with salt and pepper.
  • Place the burgers on the grill and grill for approximately 4-5 minutes. (Use your best judgment here - all grills are different!) Carefully flip and continue to cook the patties for another 3-4 minutes or until the meat is cooked through (cook to 160°).
  • Using a basting brush, brush the burger with BBQ sauce. Allow to cook for an additional minute or two - and baste with BBQ sauce again. Remove the burgers from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving. (Now is a great time to toast your buns if you like them toasted!)
  • Serve on buns with your favorite condiments and toppings!

The original recipe is from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board but has been altered some. Other stuffing suggestions are salsa and pepper jack, blue cheese and sauteed red onion, mushroom and swiss (yum!), feta and olives, or smoked provolone and roasted red peppers.

2 lbs ground beef (I use venison)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup onion, minced fine
9 -10 slices bacon
8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
6 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Fry bacon until crisp; crumble.
  • Combine beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion and shape into 12 large, thin patties.
  • Top six patties with 1 tablespoon bacon and 1 tablespoon cheese (this is approximate-use what looks right).
  • Place remaining 6 patties on top of cheese/bacon topped patties and press edges to seal.
  • Grill or broil for 3-4 minutes per side until done. We like ours well done.
  • The last 2 minutes of cooking top patties with remaining bacon and cheese.
  • Serve on buns.
