STROUPE'S SUPER SONIC CHILI
Until his recent retirement, I worked with a man who taught me much of what I know about my job and much that I've had to ignore because of my upbringing (ha)! He also makes a mean pot of chili that is a "must have" at each year's work Christmas party. He shared the recipe with me, as best he could, although his method is more "throw it in the pot and taste it 'til it works." Enjoy!

- Brown the meats with the onion and drain.
- Throw meats and remaining ingredients into a large pot and cook until it's ready.
- This really is one of those "taste it as you put it together" recipes but it is so worth the little bit of angst you may feel over not having exact measurements. Serve it with cheese, sour cream, or try it over rice for a different twist ... but don't forget the crackers or Mexican cornbread!
SONIC CHILI RECIPE
Sonic chili is a rich delicacy prepared with ground beef, kidney beans, Worcestershire sauce, and some spices. Immerse all the elements in a Ditch oven for 20 minutes and the delicious chili will be ready right in your kitchen.

Steps:
- Grease the Dutch oven with some olive oil as per the serving.
- Add ground beef and onions to the pot,
- Cook the beef and onions until they are translucent.
- Add garlic to the onions and let it cook for another 2 minutes.
- Further, add Worcestershire sauce, tomatoes, chili seasoning, and ketchup.
- Add half a cup of beef stock to the chili.
- Let all the elements emulsify and cook the chili for 5 minutes.
- Moving forward, add some kidney beans, chili beans, ground cumin, black pepper, and ancho chili powder to the pot.
- Simmer the chili for the next 15 minutes until the gravy is thickened and reduced to half.
- When the chili is ready to serve, garnish it with some freshly chopped parsley and enjoy.

SUPER SONIC CHILI
all of my family loves this chili. If I have a lot left over, I put it in a freezer zip lock bag and froze it. Sometimes I would take it out in the morning and have for lunch on the week end.

- 1. In a large dutch oven, brown beef and onions. drain. add garlic and cook 3 more mins.
- 2. Add all tomatoes, chili seasonings, and tomato juice. Bring to a simmer.
- 3. Add both beans and Cider Vinagar. stir. Bring back to a boil.
- 4. Cook in crock pot .
- 5. Cut each tamale into 3 pieces. last 15 mins of cooking, add tamales. Stir slowly so not to break up tamales. Serve..
CHUCK'S SUPER CHILI
This chili is slightly sweet with a touch of heat; the wine gives it a different taste. Everyone in my family loves this chili. I've won a couple of work chili cook-offs with this recipe and done well in some larger cook-offs as well.

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and stir in Italian sausage and ground sirloin. Cook and stir until meat is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease.
- Transfer meat to a large Dutch oven; place over medium-high heat. Stir in chopped onion; add red, yellow, and green bell peppers, garlic, and jalapeno peppers. Cook and stir until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in chili powder, brown sugar, cumin, tomato paste, oregano, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves. Cook and stir until fragrant, about 3 minutes more.
- Stirring constantly, pour in wine, chopped tomatoes and their juice, kidney beans, tomato sauce, and chopped chipotle chiles in sauce. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
- Uncover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes. Discard bay leaves before serving.

SUPER SONIC CHILI
This is so good. You can add another tomato juice if you don't want it so thick. I serve with cut up avocado, grated cheese and chopped onions. I also add another can of tamales because my family fight over them.

SUPER DUPER CHILI
This is from a fall cookbook, it said it was submitted by Elizabeth Mays, Nunnelly, Tennessee. I have made it before and it is really good. I thought I'd post it here to share it and just in case I lost the book I'd have it here. Top with some sour cream, some white onions and shredded cheese. I should add that I replace the pork sausage for Hillshire Farm cocktail franks.
