This dip is amazing and goes great with Tostitos®... Your family and friends will love it. Ideal for parties.

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Mash the avocados in a deep bowl. Mix in garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir in sour cream until well-blended.

Our favorite way to eat avocado, a smooth dip lovely with carrot sticks or crackers. I like to make this for pot lock meals, and there are never any left overs, even if I started out with 4 Ibs of avocado.

3 avocados
1 garlic clove
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 teaspoon salt
2 drops Tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Halve the avocados, remove the pips and scoop the flesh into the foodprocessor bowl.
  • Add the garlic.
  • Process the avocado till smooth.
  • Add lemon juice, salt, Tabasco and mayonnaise.
  • Process, taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Transfer the avocado dip into a container,with a close fitting lid.
  • Lay a sheet of cling film over the dip and pat down to exclude all air bubbles.
  • Close the lid over the cling film and refrigerate.
  • Unopened, this dip will keep fresh this way for 3 days. It might stay for longer but mine never lasts that long in the fridge.

While this dressing is delicious on a variety of salads, it's also great as a raw veggie dip. It's important to make this the day before serving.

1 avocado
1 cup light mayonnaise
5 anchovy fillets, rinsed and chopped
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 garlic clove, minced
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Peel avocado, remove the pit and place in a blender bowl.
  • Add remaining ingredients and process until smooth and creamy.
  • Let chill for 24 hours before serving.
  • Check for seasoning and add a pinch of cayenne pepper if the taste is too bland for you.

I make this all the time, you will need a food processor to have a smooth texture, but if you decide to make it by hand then it will not be as smooth creamy texture and the flavour will be different.

1/2 small onion
1 avocado, must be ripe, remove skin and seed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tomatoes, diced into 2mm x 2 mm cubes
1 teaspoon olive oil
salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a mini food processor, process the onion, remove and to a small bowl.
  • Add the diced tomatoes into the same bowl.
  • Add avocado in the food processor and process the avocado until it's totally mashed.
  • Add lemon juice, olive oil, salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Process them a little more, remove and add the same bowl with onion and tomatoes.
  • Mix well.
  • Serve with pita sticks, water cracker biscuits or savoury biscuits.
  • Enjoy.
