SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE
Because I'm our town's postmaster, I can bake only in my spare time. When I do, I especially like this sour cream pound cake recipe. This one tastes great as is, or tucked under ice cream and chocolate syrup like a hot fudge sundae! -Karen Conrad, East Troy, Wisconsin

Steps:
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream and vanilla. Beat on low just until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. fluted tube pan. , Bake at 325° for 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar if desired.

SOUR CREAM OR WHIPPING CREAM CAKE
This is a recipe from my next door neighbor - Mrs. Hearn. NOTICE: DO NOT preheat the oven in this recipe because the 10-inch pan has to be placed into cold oven.

Steps:
- 1. Cream sugar and butter.
- 2. Add eggs, one at a time.
- 3. Add flour a little at a time, beating well.
- 4. Add vanilla.
- 5. Turn mixer on low speed and add whipping cream or sour cream.
- 6. NOTE: Be careful not to beat; just blend.
- 7. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch pan.
- 8. Place in a cold oven.
- 9. Heat oven to 300 degrees F.
- 10. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
NO-BAKE CHEESECAKE WITH SOUR CREAM
This no-bake cheesecake with sour cream is very simple and easy. When a dessert is needed quickly, this one is quick to make. Everyone seems to like it. It doesn't matter whether I provide toppings or keep it plain. This one is a success at my house and church gatherings.
