i love popcorn especially when it's soft and chewy i sneak this into the movies sometimes for my little brothers and sisters they love it

4 bag(s) microwave popcorn, sift out the unpopped kernels
1/2 c butter
4 1/2 c sugar
2 1/2 c brown sugar12
12 oz evaporated milk
2 c heavy whipping cream
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 c light corn syrup

Steps:

  • 1. Bring to a boil butter, sugar, milk and cream. Then stir in salt and corn syrup. Boil to a softball stage. Stirring constantly.
  • 2. Pour over popped corn, mix well. Lay out to dry on a sprayed pan.

1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
1 dash salt
7 ounces sweetened condensed milk (half of a 14 oz can)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
6 quarts popped corn

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, corn syrup, margarine, and salt in medium saucepan; bring to boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add stir in milk; cook, stirring frequently, to soft ball stage (240 degrees).
  • Remove from heat then stir in vanilla.
  • Pour slowly over popcorn, stirring until caramel is evenly distributed throughout.
  • Store caramel popcorn in covered container.
  • NOTE: You may vary the amount of popcorn used. I like a little less caramel coating and usually make this recipe with 8 quarts of popcorn.

This is the most amazing soft and chewy caramel popcorn recipe you will ever make. This is one of my favorite tried-and-true dessert recipes that you can enjoy any time of the year. Made with only 6 inexpensive pantry ingredients, this will be everything you hope for in a caramel popcorn recipe.

3 bags regular size microwave popcorn, or 1 cup kernels popped
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl, and remove any kernels. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Heat the ingredients over medium-low heat until the butter is melted and the ingredients are combined.
  • Pour sweetened condensed milk into saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and continually stir for 3-4 minutes, making sure caramel doesn't burn.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Immediately pour caramel over popcorn and stir to coat all the popcorn well.
  • Allow caramel popcorn to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 tablespoon plus 1 cup butter, divided
2-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup dark corn syrup

Steps:

  • Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with foil; grease the foil with 1 tablespoon butter. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt remaining butter. Add the brown sugar, milk and corn syrup. Cook and stir until candy thermometer reads 250° (hard-ball stage). , Pour into prepared pan (do not scrape saucepan). Cool completely before cutting.

1/4 cup margarine
16 ounces marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
food coloring
6 cups plain popped popcorn

Steps:

  • Melt margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add in marshmallows and stir continuously until smooth.
  • Add in food coloring until desired color.
  • Add in vanilla (be careful it doesn't splash on you when it hits the hot marshmallow mixture).
  • Stir in popcorn and turn heat to low.
  • Scoop out 6 piles of popcorn mixture and place in piles on waxed paper. Allow to cool until comfortable to touch, but still pliable.
  • Shape into popcorn balls.
  • Cover each ball with Saran wrap.
