2 cups bow tie pasta, uncooked
1/4 cup onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups broccoli florets, fresh
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 ounces medium shrimp, peeled and deveined (uncooked)
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to directions.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, saute onion and garlic in butter and oil until tender.
  • Add broccoli and salt; cook and stir over medium-high heat for 8 minutes.
  • Add shrimp; cook and stir 2-3 minutes longer or until shrimp turns pink and broccoli is tender.
  • Drain pasta; transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Add the broccoli mixture; toss gently.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

I like to make pasta dishes with other ingredients rather than the usual tomato sauces.

2 cup(s) uncooked bow tie pasta`
1/2 cup(s) chopped shallots .
3 cup(s) garlic, minced
2 tablespoon(s) butter
1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
2 cup(s) fresh broccoli florets
1/2 cup(s) diced red peppers
8 ounce(s) raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup(s) grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions....
  • While the pasta is cooking,,add the oil and butter in a wok or large skillet,add the onions and garlic and saute for 3 to 5 minutes , add the broccoli and peppers and cook over medium heat til vegies are tender 5 minutes,,add shrimp and cook until the shrimp turns pink..do not overcook as the shrimp will be chewy.
  • Drain the pasta return to pot and toss with the shrimp mix..sprinkle with the cheese.

1 bunch broccoli florets
1 (16 ounce) package uncooked angel hair pasta
¼ cup margarine
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ medium chopped onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 pound small frozen shrimp, thawed
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil, and cook the broccoli 5 minutes, just until tender. Drain, and set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add angel hair pasta, cook for 4 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  • Heat the margarine and olive oil in a skillet, and cook the onion and garlic until tender. Mix in broccoli and shrimp, and cook until heated through. Toss with the cooked pasta, season with salt and pepper, and top with cheese to serve.

  • Cook pasta al dente according to package directions, in generously salted water. Add the broccoli just 1 minute before the pasta is finished cooking. Drain and set aside.
  • While the pasta is cooking, heat a large heavy-duty pan to high heat. Add the olive oil, butter, shrimp and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp on the highest heat level for 2-3 minutes or until pink. Remove shrimp from pan.
  • To the same pan, Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in cream cheese and parmesan and whisk until the cream cheese is fully mixed in and lump free. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Return the shrimp, drained pasta and broccoli to pan. Gently toss until everything is fully coated in the sauce. Turn off heat and serve hot.
