I found this in Sunset years ago and have made it often for parties. I mix it right it the serving pitcher so it's quick and easy. Use Torani vanilla syrup, or similar brand, the type used to flavor coffee, and a big 1.5 liter jug of the cheapest red wine you can find.

Ingredients

1 cup vanilla-flavored syrup
2 oranges, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 cup orange juice
2 (750 ml) bottles dry red wine
ice cube

Steps:

In a 3 quart or larger pitcher, combine syrup, orange slices, lime slices and orange juice.
Add wine to pitcher; mix and pour into ice-filled glasses.
