This chicken dish uses skinless boneless chicken breasts and tastes delicious. It's great as an appetizer or as a main dish served with rice and a veggie.

1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
¼ cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger root
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
2 tablespoons hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 1/2 inch strips
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Mix together brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  • Lightly salt and pepper the chicken strips.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken strips and brown on both sides, about 1 minute per side. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Simmer uncovered until the sauce thickens, 8 to 10 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 lbs chicken wings, washed and patted dry
1 (16 ounce) bottle good quality Italian salad dressing (the oily kind, NOT fat-free)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 packet Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 lb brown sugar, less to taste

Steps:

  • Cut chicken wings apart at joints, discarding tips or freeze them for the stock pot.
  • Marinate overnight in salad dressing.
  • Combine soy sauce, dressing mix, optional hot pepper flakes, and brown sugar in a small saucepan.
  • Heat, stirring, until blended and sugar has dissolved.
  • Drain chicken wings well, and place in shallow baking pan.
  • Baste with soy sauce mixture, and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour, turning and basting frequently with soy sauce mixture.
  • Serve hot or cold.
  • The easiest way to serve hot is to scrape them into a crockpot set to LOW and drizzle them with any remaining soy sauce mixture.

1 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 -2 dash Worcestershire sauce
8 -10 chicken tenders
1 slice cheddar cheese (per piece)
1 slice swiss cheese (per piece)

Steps:

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce together.
  • Place in an air tight container with desired amount of chicken tenders.
  • Refrigerate in marinade overnight.
  • Grill as desired, basting with leftover marinade throughout grilling.
  • Place one slice of Swiss and one slice cheddar on each chicken tender right before you are done grilling so the cheeses can melt.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

3 ounces palm sugar, chopped, or 6 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup fish sauce (such as nam pla or nuoc nam)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons chopped peeled fresh ginger
4 red Thai chiles or 6 Fresno chiles, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons minced lemongrass (from peeled bottom 4" of 2 large stalks)
Ingredient info: Palm sugar is available at Indian and Asian markets. Fish sauce is sold at Asian markets and better supermarkets.

Steps:

  • Stir palm sugar and 3 tablespoons water in a small saucepan over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
  • Combine lime juice, fish sauce, and 3 tablespoons water in a medium bowl. Whisk in 1/3 cup palm sugar syrup (reserve remaining syrup for glaze). Stir in cilantro, ginger, chiles, and lemongrass. Put pork or seafood in a glass, stainless-steel, or ceramic dish. Toss with marinade. Cover; chill for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • Remove pork or seafood from marinade, pat dry, and grill.
  • The finish:
  • Simmer marinade and reserved palm sugar syrup in a small saucepan until reduced to 3/4 cup. Brush glaze onto meat or fish during the last few minutes of grilling.
