Splash bourbon, optional
Freshly whipped cream

Steps:

  • Place a few scoops of vanilla ice cream into 2 tall float glasses. Pour the root beer and bourbon, if using, over the ice cream and top with a dollop of whipped cream.

¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon root beer concentrate
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white chocolate chips, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together in a bowl with an electric mixer until creamy; beat in pudding mix. Add eggs and root beer concentrate; stir in flour and baking soda. Fold chocolate chips into the dough.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 8 to 10 minutes.

2 quarts root beer

Steps:

  • Hang a large, well packed scoop of vanilla ice cream on the edge of a fountain glass or other tall drinking glass. Fill the glass 3/4 full with root beer. Set the fountain glass on a salad plate, underlining the glass for overflow. Serve floats with straws and parfait spoons. When you are ready to enjoy the floats, knock the ice cream into the root beer and watch it fizz up as the ice cream floats. Yummy! This is the simplest and my most favorite fountain drink!

6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
4 salted pretzel rods
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup nondairy whipped topping
4 scoops cherry chocolate chip ice cream
1 (12-ounce) bottle root beer
1 (12-ounce) bottle cream soda

Steps:

  • In a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips. Dip the tips of the pretzel rods in the chocolate and place upright in a glass in the freezer for 1 hour. Set the remaining melted chocolate aside.
  • Combine the vanilla extract and whipped topping. For each float, place 2 scoops of ice cream into tall float glass. Add 6 ounces root beer and 6 ounces cream soda to each glass. Top with the vanilla-flavored whipped topping. Remove pretzel rods from freezer and place in Root Beer Float. Garnish with extra drizzle of melted chocolate and serve immediately.

2 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons root beer concentrate
1 pound broken dry ice
Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Combine the carbonated water, sugar and root beer concentrate in an extra-large bowl or punch bowl - something that is food-safe and won't break when the dry ice is added. Don't cover with a lid. Gently stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the dry ice to the mixture in a well-ventilated area. The mixture will start to bubble. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to fully carbonate.
  • Ladle some of the root beer into a glass. Top with desired amount of vanilla ice cream.

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 teaspoons root beer extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon half-and-half
2 teaspoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon root beer extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • In a large bowl combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, 1 cup butter, buttermilk and eggs, 2 teaspoons root beer extract and vanilla.
  • Beat at medium speed until well blended.
  • Add flour baking soda and salt.
  • Beat on low speed until dough forms.
  • Drop by heaping teaspoonful 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl combine frosting ingredients beat at low speed of electric mixer until smooth.
  • Spread frosting on evenly over cookies.
  • Let dry completely before storing in container.

You can either mix the ingredients together in a glass or blend them in a blender and then pour into a glass. This is a very relaxing drink. Schnapps are generally low in alcohol but are very tasty.

1 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon root beer concentrate
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

FILLING:
1/4 cup butter, softened
1-1/3 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon water
1 teaspoon root beer concentrate

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and root beer concentrate. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well., Shape dough into 3/4-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool completely., In a small bowl, beat the filling ingredients until smooth. Spread on the bottoms of half of the cookies; top with remaining cookies.
