This recipe is great to make ahead and freeze for later use! I created this by taking the parts of several pizza roll recipes I liked on this site. My husband does not like many veggies so feel free to add any to your taste.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 small onion, minced
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 lb hamburger, cooked and drained
6 ounces diced pepperoni
4 cups shredded cheese (I use an Italian or pizza mix)
1 (26 ounce) can pasta sauce (tomato based)
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (optional)
nonstick cooking spray (optional)
60 wonton wrappers

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except wonton wrappers in a large bowl.
  • Place one well rounded tsp of filling in center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Fold the dough over forming a triangle.
  • Seal, with water if needed.
  • Place finished wontons on a baking sheet.
  • Optional: spray wontons with cooking oil on each side.
  • Bake in a 400 degree oven for 8-12 minutes.
  • If freezing, place wontons on baking sheets and freeze until solid. Then place in a freezer bag.
  • When ready to use, bake as above (no need to preheat).

1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup ham
1 tablespoon crushed pineapple, drained
2 tablespoons spaghetti sauce
20 wonton wrappers

Steps:

  • Grind ham or chop very fine.
  • Mix together ham, pineapple, and cheese.
  • Add just enough spaghetti sauce to let the ingredients stick together.
  • Place a wonton wrapper on the table with one corner facing you.
  • Place 1-2 teaspoons filling on wrapper, just above the corner.
  • Wet edges of wonton slightly.
  • Fold corner facing you over filling, then overlap right and left corners over the top.
  • Roll up and press slightly to seal.
  • Deep fry in hot oil just until golden. This only takes about 30 seconds. If you leave them too long they will burst.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Freeze on a cookie sheet and transfer to a plastic bag or container.
  • Re-heat in oven or microwave.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 375. Lightly mist 12 cups in a standard muffin/cupcake tin with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Place the sausage in a medium skillet and bring to medium heat. Cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon into smaller pieces, until sausage is cooked through. *If using a vegetable that needs to be cooked (mushrooms, peppers, etc)*, add those to the sausage and continue to cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are softened. If you’re using pineapple you don’t need to cook it, you can just add it in the next step.
  • Transfer the cooked sausage and the cooked vegetables or chopped pineapple to a mixing bowl. Add most of the chopped pepperoni (reserve some to sprinkle on top), the pizza sauce and the Italian seasoning and stir together to combine.
  • Push a wonton wrapper into the bottom of each of the sprayed cups in the muffin tin. Using about half of the sausage mixture, spoon evenly into the wonton wrappers. Sprinkle about half of the shredded mozzarella evenly over the top of each cup. Press another wonton wrapper on top and repeat the layering steps with the remaining sausage mixture and shredded mozzarella. Sprinkle the reserved pepperoni on top of the completed cups.
