- In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, toast oats over medium heat until golden brown. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, cook and stir brown sugar and apple cider over medium-low heat until brown sugar is dissolved, 1-2 minutes. Add cinnamon and salt; stir to combine., Stir in the cereal, pistachios, fruits, sunflower kernels and toasted oats until coated. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

- For the bars: In a bowl, stir the margarine with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Stir in the flour, oats and pistachios. Press into a parchment-lined rectangular baking dish so that the bars will be 1 cm (approximately 1/4 inch) thick. Bake in a 180°C (approximately 350°F)(gas mark 2-3, fan: 160 degrees) for 12-15 minutes.
- For the topping: In a bowl, stir the butter with the sugar. Add the orange juice and flour until thoroughly combined. Cut the apricots into small pieces and stir into the flour mixture along with the raisins and pistachios. Crumble on top of the bars and bake for another 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool and serve cut into pieces.

PISTACHIO LOVERS GRANOLA BARS
I've been making homemade granola bars for my family for a couple years now and this is becoming one of my all time personal favorites. Use it as a crust for pies, put a scoop of ice cream on top, crumble it up in yogurt or eat it by itself for a yummy snack. Also freezes well!!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Melt butter, sugars, syrup, honey and vanilla together in a pot on med. heat until all sugars are disolved.
- In large bowl mix oats, wheat germ, flax seed, craisins and nuts together.
- Mix melted Mixture well in dry mixture.
- Spray 9x13 cookie sheet with pam, Spread out Mixture and flatten.(I like to butter my fingers and pat down).
- Bake for about 15 minutes.
- Let cool
- Cut into 24 bars and enjoy.
