Steps:
- 1. Melt butter or heat oil. Saute onion until tender.
- 2. Add broth and picante sauce. Stir and bring to a boil.
- 3. Stir in rice and garlic powder.
- 4. Cover and simmer 20 - 25 minutes. Watch closely, as it is prone to scorching.

- Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Stir in onion, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Mix rice into skillet, stirring often. When rice begins to brown, stir in chicken broth and salsa. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes, until liquid has been absorbed.
