CROCK POT APPLE/PEAR SAUCE WITH GINGER
This is the only way I like to eat "apple" sauce. I love the combination of ginger and pears. Keeps well in your fridge for up to 2 weeks! (not that you'll have any left!)

Steps:
- Combine the apples, pears, honey (you can leave this out and still get delicious sauce), water, lemon juice, and ginger in the slow cooker. Cover and cook until the fruit is extremely tender and falling apart, on low for 5 hours
- Beat to make a corse mash or use a food processor for a smoother sauce (don't over blend). Stir in the butter. Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve cold.
EASY CROCKPOT PEAR SAUCE RECIPE
Easy to make pear sauce recipe that is great for canning. Made with no added sugars, just simply delicious.

Steps:
- Peel, remove seeds and roughly chop pears.
- add water & lemon juice.
- Cook on low in crockpot for 8-10 hours.
- Check for tenderness of pears. If they are very tinder take a potato masher to mash to the chunky sauce level. Or for a smoother sauce use an immersion blender until smooth.
- Add your spices.
- Cover, turn off your crockpot and let them cool.
- If canning this is a perfect time to get your canning supplies ready.
- If not canning wait until they cool, then eat or store in the fridge until ready to eat, use within a week.
- If canning fill either 2 clean quart jars or 4 clean pint jars.
- For pressure canning put clean sterilized lids and rings on to hand tightness. Put jars in canner with manufacturer's recommended directions.
- Then can at 6 lbs of pressure for 10 minutes.
- For water bath canning follow directions for canning an apple sauce or apple pie filling recipe.

CROCK POT MAPLE-SAUCED PEARS
For an elegant dessert, place each pear upright on a pretty dessert plate. Spoon the sauce around the pear, and sprinkle with chopped toasted nuts or coconut. Spoon a big dollop of soft whipped cream alongside the pear, and garnish the plate with a twisted orange slice

Steps:
- Peel pears.
- Core pears from bottom, leaving stems attached.
- Place pears upright in slow cooker.
- Mix remaining ingredients except cornstarch and orange juice; pour over pears.
- Cover and cook on high heat setting 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
- Remove pears from cooker; place upright in serving dish or individual dessert dishes.
- Mix cornstarch and orange juice; stir into sauce in cooker.
- Cover and cook on high heat setting about 10 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
- Spoon sauce over pears.
- **Use 1/4 cup honey instead of the maple syrup for a change of pace.
