Slow Cooker Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pudding Cake image

1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
½ cup smooth or chunky peanut butter
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ cup sugar
1 ½ cups boiling water
Vanilla ice cream for serving

Steps:

  • Coat a medium round or oval slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a medium size bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center, add the milk, oil, and vanilla, and stir in widening circles, gradually incorporating the dry ingredients, until you have a smooth batter. Stir in the peanut butter. The batter will be thick. Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread evenly in the crockpot.
  • To make the topping, in another medium-size bowl, combine the cocoa, and sugar; pour in the boiling water and whisk until smooth. Gently pour over the batter in the cooker; DO NOT STIR. Cover and cook on HIGH until puffed and the top layer is set, 2 to 2 ½ hours.
  • Turn off the cooker and let it stand, covered for 30 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream.

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl, then add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  • Stir in peanut butter, and pour in slow cooker.
  • Mix remaining sugar, and cocca powder, and gradually stir in boiling water.
  • Pour this mixture over batter in slow cooker. DO NOT STIR.
  • Cover and cook on high 2-3 hours, or till toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream.

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water
vanilla ice cream
chocolate fudge topping (optional)
1/3 cup chopped peanuts

Steps:

  • In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, the 1/4 cup sugar, and the baking powder.
  • Add milk, oil, and vanilla.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Stir in peanut butter.
  • Transfer batter to an ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • In the same mixing bowl stir together the 1/2 cup sugar and the cocoa powder.
  • Gradually stir in the boiling water.
  • Pour the mixture evenly over batter in casserole.
  • Bake in a 400 degree oven about 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
  • If desired, top with fudge ice-cream topping.
  • Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cups hot water
whipped topping

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Stir together 3/4 cup granulated sugar, flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  • Pour batter into ungreased 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Stir together remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa; sprinkle mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. Do NOT stir!
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Let stand 15 minutes; spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over the top.

This is my husband's favorite recipe. Someone brought this to my Grandpa's funeral in 1968, and I've been making it since. The dark fudge cake over the hot pudding is delicious served with whipped cream or ice cream. This is very rich and will be loved by chocolate lovers!

1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 ¾ cups hot water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, white sugar, 2 tablespoon cocoa powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Stir in milk and butter until smooth.
  • Fold in walnuts until just combined.
  • Spread batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  • Mix 1/4 cup cocoa and brown sugar in a small bowl; sprinkle mixture on top of the batter.
  • Pour hot water over the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the center of the cake is almost set, about 45 minutes. Brown sugar, cocoa, and hot water will combine to form a chocolate sauce that will settle to the bottom of the cake during baking.
  • Best served warm.
