HANKY PANKY RECIPE
If you have never had a Hanky Panky, you are in for a treat! There is nothing improper about this Hanky Panky Recipe for old-fashioned, delicious, cocktail rye bread appetizers, sometimes called a "polish mistake," topped with a combination of sausage, hamburger meat and, what else, lots of gooey cheesy goodness!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Add ground beef and sausage to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir and cook until browned. Use a potato masher or large fork to break up any large clumps of meat.
- When the meat has browned, drain off any excess fat.
- Add oregano, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, and fennel seeds. Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for 20 minutes.
- Cut the cheese into cubes and add to the meat mixture. Stir until the cheese has melted and everything is thoroughly blended, remove from the heat.
- Use a small ice-cream scoop (about 1¼ inches in diameter) or a tablespoon to add a dollop of the meat and cheese mixture to each piece of bread.
- Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the topping is bubbling.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.

- Mix the sausages and brown them. Drain the grease.
- Cut the Velveeta into cubes and carefully melt with the sausage
- Add spices and sauces, stirring to combine
- Spread the cheese mix on the slices of rye bread
- Once they are cooled, you can stack and freeze them.
- Bake on a cookie sheet in a 375 F oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melty

- Preheat oven to 400°. In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring water and butter to a boil. Add the flours, parsley, garlic powder and salt all at once; stir until a smooth ball forms. Remove from the heat; let stand for 5 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition until smooth. Continue beating until mixture is smooth and shiny., Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Sprinkle with caraway. Bake until golden brown, 18-20 minutes. - 1. Mix mayonnaise, parmesan and onion
- 2. Spread the party rye with the mixture--not too much on each slice because you don't want the bread to be soggy after it broils
- 3. sprinkle with paprika--as much or as little as you want
- 4. Put a thin slice of pepperoni on each slice of bread
- 5. put under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes or until the mixture bubbles
- 6. (please note that I put 5 minutes of cook time in the cooking category because I had to put something--but it only takes 2-3 minutes)

- Arrange cocktail rye slices on a baking sheet. Top each one with about 2 teaspoons of thousand island salad dressing, then fold about 1/2 slice of corned beef to fit the bread, and lay over the dressing.
