A great salad dressing with a nice tangy flavor. The taste compliments lasagne, spaghetti, and other similar Italian dishes. Tonight I tried some leftover sauce on a salad of baby spinach and romaine with crumbled albacore tuna--it was fabulous. I at least double the recipe every time I make it because 1/3 cup just isn't enough. From Cuisine at Home.

3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 dash Tabasco sauce
salt & freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Whisk together mayonnaise, Parmesan, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

1/4 cup mayonnaise (reduced fat is acceptable)
1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 pinch fines herbes
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Parmesan, vinegar, sour cream, parsley, mustard, herbs, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Whisk well.
  • Slowly add the oil, whisking constantly, until the dressing is emulsified.
  • Cover and chill the dressing until you are ready to use it.
  • Let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving.
  • This dressing will keep for up to 5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

This is my take on a sour cream house dressing from a restaurant I worked at in Arizona when I was younger. We would dip our onion rings and French fries in it, put it on our burgers, and of course, on our salad. I hope you enjoy.

2 cups buttermilk
1 ½ cups sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
¾ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Whisk buttermilk, sour cream, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, vinegar, garlic salt, parsley, and pepper together in a bowl until combined; some chunks are expected.
  • Transfer to a large mason jar and chill until flavors are blended, at least 3 hours.

This stuff is so good and so easy. It makes a big batch and still doesn't last long in my family. I found that the cheap store brand Italian dressing works the best. If the raw garlic is too much for you, you can substitute garlic powder instead.
