BAKED SWISS STEAK
This dish is one of my husband's favorites, so I make it often. Baking steak might seem strange at first, but the meat becomes very tender, and the vegetables add delicious flavor. -Dolores Wynne, Clearwater, Florida

OVEN SWISS STEAK
I was really glad to find this recipe since it's a great way to use round steak and it picks up fabulous flavor from one of my favorite herbs - tarragon. I am a homemaker with three children and enjoy cooking tasty dinners like this one for my family. -Lorna Dickau, Vanderhoof, British Columbia

AL'S BAKED SWISS STEAK
This is a variation on another recipe, which is great as is, but I couldn't make Swiss steak without green peppers or garlic. I also season the meat instead of the flour; it gets a more intense taste that way.

BAKED SWISS STEAK
This recipe takes a tough piece of meat and turns it into a nice tender dinner. The round steak is smothered with a mixture of celery, carrot, onion, green pepper, and tomato, and baked until it is tender and delicious. I like it with mashed potatoes (but I like mashed potatoes with everything!), but it also works with noodles. Originally posted in the Junior League of Charleston cookbook, Charleston, West Virginia.
