CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD

I got this from my mom, who got this from a friend, when we were living overseas. There are never any leftovers at our house.

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 tablespoons vinegar
4 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon msg or 1 teaspoon Accent seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups cooked shredded chicken (more or less as you prefer)
1 head lettuce
1/2 cup slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Mix the first 5 ingredients well.
  • Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl mix chicken and lettuce.
  • Saute the almonds in butter.
  • Add almonds to the chicken and lettuce.
  • Pour the vinegar mixture over the salad and mix well.
  • Serve.

  • Mix all ingredients and chill.

1 pounds chicken
1 heads cabbage
1 units green onions
4 packages top ramen noodles
0.5 cups sugar
1 cups rice vinegar
1 cups olive oil
2 packages ramen noodle seasoning

Steps:

  • Cook chicken and cut it into bite size pieces. Chop up cabbage and green onions and add to a large bowl.
  • Crunch up noodles and put on baking sheet in oven on broil until they are lightly toasted and a nice brown color (be careful they cook quickly).
  • Mix together the sugar, rice vinegar, olive oil, and packets of seasoning; add to the cabbage mix. When the chicken is cooled, add it as well as the noodles to the mix and stir it up good.

1 iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
1 green onion, chopped
1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts
sesame seeds, toasted
toasted almond, sliced
1 (6 ounce) can chow mein noodles
1 (4 ounce) can mandarin oranges
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sesame oil
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 dash Lawry's Seasoned Salt

Steps:

  • grill chicken, shred.
  • in a seperate bowl, prepare dressing, mix with a whisk.
  • put salad ingredients and chicken together and toss.
  • do not add dressing until ready to serve.
