MARINATED PRIME RIB

Marinated Prime Rib image

Allow your roast to sit in the delicious herb-infused prime rib marinade up to 24 hours to develop the most flavor. Serve the ultra-tender slices of prime rib with your favorite sides (we love mashed potatoes and roasted carrots) for the ultimate comforting feast.

Provided by BHG Test Kitchen

Time 8h25m

Number Of Ingredients 9

0.75 cup dry red wine or beef broth
0.5 cup chopped onion
0.25 cup water
0.25 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1.5 teaspoon snipped fresh rosemary or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
0.5 teaspoon dried marjoram, crushed
0.25 teaspoon garlic salt
1 4-6 pound beef rib roast

Steps:

  • For marinade, in a small bowl stir together wine or broth, onion, water, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, marjoram, and garlic salt.
  • Place meat in a self-sealing plastic bag set in a shallow dish. Pour marinade over meat. Seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator at least 6 hours or up to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
  • Drain meat, discarding marinade. Place meat, fat side up, in a large roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into center without touching bone.
  • Roast in a 325 degree F oven to desired doneness. [Allow 2 to 2-1/2 hours for rare (140 degrees F) or 2-1/4 to 3-1/4 hours for medium (155 degrees F.] Transfer meat to a cutting board. Cover with foil and let stand for 15 minutes before carving. (The temperature of the meat will rise 5 degrees during standing.) If desired, garnish with additional fresh rosemary.

EASY PRIME RIB ROAST

Easy Prime Rib Roast image

I'm new to cooking, and I recently purchased a rib-eye roast, and had no idea what it was. I put a few ingredients together and cooked it and to my surprise, it was the best prime rib I've ever had. I thought I would share it with you. Hope you enjoy!

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Roast Recipes

Time 4h50m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 cloves garlic, finely chopped, or more to taste
¼ teaspoon dried rosemary, or more to taste
1 pinch crushed dried sage
1 pinch finely ground dried thyme
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (4.5 pound) bone-in prime rib roast
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce, or more to taste
¼ cup soy sauce, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Mix garlic, rosemary, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Pat garlic mixture over entire roast. Make an incision down the middle of the roast, keeping parallel with the bones. Place the roast in a plastic roasting bag and pour Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce into the bag, concentrating on the incision in the roast. Tie the bag and refrigerate roast to marinate, turning often, at least 2 hours.
  • Remove roast from refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature, 1 to 2 hours. Remove roast from bag and discard marinade. Place roast, fat-side up, in a roasting pan.
  • Preheat an oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue cooking until an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (65 degrees C), about 1 hour. Let roast stand for 20 minutes before slicing.

PRIME RIB ROAST MARINADE

Prime Rib Roast Marinade image

I make a prime rib roast every year for Christmas. About 2 years ago I wanted to try something new so I whipped this recipe together on a whim and its been a tradition ever since.

Provided by cervantesbrandi

Categories     Meat

Time 15m

Yield 1 roast

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 small white onion
6 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons rosemary (fresh)
2 tablespoons thyme (fresh)
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon spicy Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until ingredients are minced and combined.
  • Note: I usually rub this marinade over the roast the day before I cook it. That way it marinates all day and the night before cooking. Enjoy!

KIM'S PRIME RIB

I use a 5 to 6 pound roast for the following recipe. You can double or half the recipe depending on how many you are cooking for.

Provided by Kim

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Roast Recipes

Time 2h20m

Yield 5

Number Of Ingredients 7

5 pounds rib roast
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
onion salt
1 tablespoon browning sauce
1 ½ cups water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion salt, browning sauce and water. Place roast in a roasting pan ribs side down and poke deep holes in the roast with a knife. Pour the marinade over the roast. Using a baster, squirt marinade into the holes you created with the knife and over the entire roast a few times.
  • Bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) for about 1 hour. (Note: Bake for 40 to 45 minutes for a smaller roast so that it does not dry out.)
  • Remove roast from oven and reduce temperature in the oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C).
  • When oven has reached 200 degrees F (95 degrees C), return roast to oven and continue cooking for 18 to 22 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F (65 degrees C).

10 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
