Our Version of Kneaders French Toast and Caramel Syrup image

This Kneaders French Toast and Caramel Syrup Copycat Recipe is spot on! The French Toast is topped with rich, creamy syrup and fresh strawberries and cream.

1 loaf cinnamon bread (un-sliced)
6 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp brown sugar
strawberries
whip cream or cool whip
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. heavy cream
1 c. light Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Slice the cinnamon bread into 6 to 8 slices, depending on a how thick you like it. Preheat a large griddle to 325 degrees, or a large pan over the stove on medium heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar. Dip each slice into the mixture, be sure to completely coat, then cook on the preheated and buttered griddle until both sides of the bread are a golden brown.
  • For the syrup, combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir and heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Serve french toast with warm caramel syrup, sliced strawberries, and whip cream or cool whip.

Our Kneaders Recipe Rosemary Focaccia Bread Recipe has crunchy crust, savory flavor, with a lightly salted crust!

1 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons butter, divided
2 cups plus 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons fresh chopped rosemary, divided
1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water (110-120 degrees F) and let stand about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add 1 tablespoon butter, salt and 2 cups of flour to yeast mixture. Add in 1 tablespoon rosemary and knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes in a dough mixer. If needed, add more flour and continue to knead until bread is smooth and elastic.
  • Lightly oil a large mixing bowl with olive oil and place dough in bowl, turning once to coat the top. Cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  • Punch down dough and divide in half. Shape dough into two rounded loaves. Sprinkle remaining tablespoon of rosemary over the loaves and lightly press into the surface.
  • Place loaves on 18x13 cookie sheet pan. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven and brush with remaining butter and sprinkle with sea salt.

Kneaders is a bakery franchise in Utah and has by far the best sugar cookies anywhere. It's the lemon and nutmeg that put them over the top. The owner posted this recipe on a television blog and I am posting it and the icing for you. Hope you love them as much as I. Oh! And this makes a LOT. I just separate into fourths and freeze the others for later...works great!

2 cup(s) butter
2 1/4 cup(s) sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup(s) milk
7 3/4 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) lemon flavor
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1 tablespoon(s) honey
ICING
4 1/2 cup(s) powdered sugar
4 tablespoon(s) corn syrup, light
3 tablespoon(s) milk
1/4 teaspoon(s) lemon flavor

Steps:

  • Cream Together butter and sugar until fluffy
  • add eggs, then milk. Scrape the sides of the bowl often
  • Stir in remaining ingredients. Dough will be soft and sticky
  • Place dough on well floured pastry cloth or workspace
  • Knead in just enough flour to make dough workable. Dough will be very soft. It is best to knead with rolling motion so you have a smooth surface and you will not get cracks on the tops of your cookies
  • Gently roll out to 3/8 inch thick
  • Cut into desired shapes and place on baking sheet lined with parchment (I did without parchment, works fine)
  • Bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes or until just the edges barely start to change colors. Makes approx 4 dozen.
  • for Icing Mix together all ingredients until smooth Dip cookie in icing and smooth with wide side of palm of hand. Let set. Decorate with icing, chocolate chips, candy, coconut, etc.

If you live near a Kneaders bakery, their stuffing recipe is the way to go! Stuffing made with Asiago Cheese Croutons is out of this world! If you don't live near a Kneaders and can find Asaigo cheese bread to make your own croutons you will definately want to give this recipe a try. I do add to their original recipe, cooked pork sausage, but either way it is good! It takes about 3 pkgs of croutons for a 9 X 13. I am guessing it is 9 cups.

2 cups chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 lb pork sausage
2 (14 ounce) chicken broth
9 cups kneaders asiago cheese croutons

Steps:

  • Place croutons in large bowl.
  • Brown celery and onion in butter, add pepper and chicken broth.
  • In another skillet brown sausage.
  • Pour vegetable mixture and sausage over croutons.
  • If the mixture is not wet enough add ¼ to ½ cup of water or chicken broth.
  • Cover and bake at 375° for 25 to 35 minutes.

Homemade Kneaders Chunky Cinnamon French Toast & Caramel Syrup image

Chunky cinnamon bread and caramel syrup make this french toast taste out of this world!

Number Of Ingredients 12

French Toast:
1 loaf Kneaders Chunky Cinnamon Bread, cut into 8 slices (if you don't live near Kneaders, any type of thick-cut cinnamon swirl bread will work)
8 eggs
3 cups milk
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons butter
Caramel Syrup:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup corn syrup

Steps:

  • For the french toast: Preheat an electric griddle to 375 degrees F. In a shallow baking dish, mix eggs, milk, brown sugar, salt and vanilla. Melt butter evenly across your griddle. Dip each slice of bread into egg mixture and coat completely on each side. Place coated bread on hot griddle and turn until lightly browned on each side. [i]Optional: serve with whipped cream and strawberries on top.[/i]
  • For the caramel syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine all syrup ingredients over medium heat. Whisk together until smooth and sugar has completely dissolved. Serve warm over french toast.
