JANET'S RICH BANANA BREAD

This is the moistest banana bread that I have ever tasted. It's also very easy to make!

½ cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup sour cream
½ cup chopped walnuts
2 medium bananas, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the butter mixture until smooth. Finally, fold in the sour cream, walnuts and bananas. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 box soda crackers (all four sleeves)--i.e. saltines
1 pkg original hidden vally salad dressing mix
1 1/2 c canola oil
red pepper flakes, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Place all four packages from the box of crackers in a plastic container with a lid.
  • 2. Pour the dry salad dressing mix over the crackers. Shake well.
  • 3. Add the oil. Shake and roll the container until all the oil is absorbed. Place in an airtight container.

These pickles are from my mom's cookbook We could always look forward to fresh pickles every year.

SOAK SOLUTION:
2 gallon water
3 cup(s) lime
SYRUP:
3 1/2 pint(s) apple cider vinegar
5 pound(s) sugar
1 tablespoon(s) celery seed

Steps:

  • Soak 7 lbs. small freshly picked cucumbers in 2 gallons of ice cold water and 3 cups lime. Soak 24 hours. Stirring every 2 hours.
  • Drain cucumber slices, rinse in cold water and allow to sit for 4 hours, changing water every hour.
  • To make syrup, bring to a boil vinegar, sugar, and celery seed. Pour over cucumbers and let stand overnight.
  • The next day simmer the cucumbers in syrup for 1 hour over very low heat. Put in jars and put the lids on and screw on rings. Process pints for 10 minutes in a boiling water bath
  • Makes about 11 pints. Let sit for a week before opening. 2 weeks is best.

1 can(s) cream style corn undrained
1 can(s) whole kernal corn drained
1 cup(s) sour cream
1/2 stick(s) butter melted
1 to 1/2 cup(s) shredded cheese
1 - box corn muffen mix
cup(s) green bell pepper diced fine
1/2 cup(s) onion diced fine

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix the Jiffy muffin mix, cream style undrained, whole kernal corn drained, sour cream, 1/2 stick butter melted, 1/2 cup onion 1/2 cup green pepper
  • Mix well and put in a 9 by 9 pan and bake for 45 minutes
  • When 45 minutes is up sprinkle shredded cheese and the rest of the green bell pepper cook 5-10 minutes more or until cheese is melted.
  • Serve warm This recipe can be easily doubled.
