BLT SALAD RECIPE
The dressing in this BLT salad is exceptional! This BLT salad is loaded with fresh lettuce, crispy bacon, bright tomatoes and of course croutons. An easy, excellent salad!

- Make the dressing first to allow the flavors to meld. In a small bowl, combine 3 Tbsp mayo, 4 Tbsp sour cream, pressed garlic clove, 1/4 cup chives, 1/8 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp salt (or season to taste). Stir together then add 1 to 2 Tbsp milk, or add milk to desired consistency. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and croutons. Just before serving, drizzle with dressing (adding it to taste) and toss to combine.

- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and add bacon, cook until crisp then drain on paper towels.
- In a salad bowl, whisk together the garlic, mustard, vinegar and stream in extra-virgin olive oil to incorporate the dressing, season with salt and pepper and stir in chives. Shred lettuces and add to the bowl. Halve the cherry tomatoes and add to the bowl along with bacon. Toss salad to coat evenly with dressing and serve.

- Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat, turning frequently, until evenly browned. Drain, crumble and set aside.
- In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, milk, garlic powder and black pepper. Blend until smooth. Season the dressing with salt.
- Combine lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and croutons in a large salad bowl. Toss with dressing, and serve immediately.

A yummy topping of BL to put on a T. Bacon and lettuce combined with some cheese and breadcrumbs make a plum tomato a yummy side dish! A recipe I found in Better Homes & Gardens. Magazine says this is 98 calories per serving with 8 grams of fat. You could reduce that by using turkey bacon and low fat mayo.

- Preheat oven to 400°F In a large skillet cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Drain on paper towel. Chop.
- In medium bowl, combine the bacon, lettuce, crumbs, cheese and olive oil, mix well.
- Halve the plumb tomatoes lengthwise. Scoop out the inside leaving pulp and shell. Sprinkle the inside of each with black pepper.
- Brush with some mayo and mound the bacon mixture in the tomatoes. Transfer to a baking pan.
- Roast the tomatoes, uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes. Serves 2.

the first time i made this i was kina not really wanting to use mayo i dont care for it but i did anyway and the vinegar just does something to it to make it good my 12 yr. old son just loves it we dont stuff the tomatoes we mix in a bowl cut up the tomatoes and eat this for a meal its very filling

- 1. cook bacon till crisp let cool cut into bite size or i crumble
- 2. cut circle in tops of tmoatoes remove insides so you have a bowl as you would for stuffed peppers save juice from the tomatoes in small bowl
- 3. cut romaine lettuce put in large bowl this will be the bowl youll serve in if you choose to instead
- 4. measure out 2 cups mayo stir in 2 tbls.apple cider vinegar stir well mix in 2-3 tbls. of tomato juice from the ones you cut and this is my inside out blt salad you have your bacon, tomato,lettuce mayo and croutons are your bread
- 5. in large bowl put lettuce,bacon,croutons,add dressing mix well, stuff you tomatos with filling i suggest adding croutons and stuff right before serving they tend to get soggy i hope you enjoy my 12 yr. old son loves it

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Arrange bacon in a single layer on a sheet pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until crisp, about 15 minutes, turning halfway through. Remove from the oven and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Chop when cool enough to handle.
