HUGS 'N' KISSES BROWNIE
'When I needed a dessert in a hurry, I dressed up a brownie mix with on-hand ingredients to come up with this impressive treat,' says Kristi Van Batavia of Kansas City, Missouri.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, stir brownie mix, egg, oil and water until well blended. Fold in 1 cup vanilla chips.
- Pour into a greased 9-in. heart-shaped or round springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 2-in. from the side of pan comes out clean.
- Let stand for 10 minutes; alternate milk chocolate and striped kisses around edge of pan with points toward center. Melt shortening and remaining chips; stir until smooth. Drizzle over brownie. Cool completely. Remove sides of springform pan.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together shortening, softened butter, brown sugar and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine baking powder, baking soda, salt, flour and cocoa powder.
- Add to the wet ingredients and combine.
- Roll into 1 inch balls and roll in 1/4 cup sugar.
- Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 minutes or until set up.
- Let the cookies cool for 1 minute, then place a Hershey's Hug on top of each one. Press down gently.
- Allow to cool until the Hugs are set up.

- Beat butter, granulated sugar, water and vanilla in large bowl on medium speed of mixer until well blended. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Gradually add to sugar mixture, beating on low speed until blended. Cover; refrigerate dough about two hours or until firm enough to handle.
- Heat oven to 350°F. Line 48 small muffin cups (1-3/4 inches in diameter) with paper or foil baking cups or lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place in prepared muffin cups.
- Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until cookie surface is set. Cookies will appear soft and moist. Do not over bake. Cool about 5 minutes on wire rack. Dust cookie tops with powdered sugar. Press frozen chocolate piece into surface of each cookie. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
