1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup grated onion
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 drops Tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1 (6 1/2 ounce) can crabmeat, drained
2 loaves French baguettes, sliced 1/2 inch thick

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, grated onion, cheddar cheese, Tabasco, curry powder and crabmeat. (This can be made one day in advance).
  • Place mixture on bread rounds and broil until golden brown. Serve immediately.

This is one of my mom's favorite things to take to any kind of party. There is never any left over.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 (170 g) cans crabmeat
250 g cream cheese (2 blocks)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 dashes Tabasco sauce (I always use more than she does)

Steps:

  • Mix together and set aside.
  • Take round loaf of bread (sour dough) and cut small circle out of top of bread (do not throw it away).
  • Cut away the center of the bread to make a hollow space inside (keep insides as well).
  • Place crab meat mixture inside bread.
  • Put the lid you sliced off back on.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour and serve hot with remaining bread or extra baguette.
  • If extra filling, place in casserole dish and bake beside bread.

1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
⅓ cup creamy salad dressing, e.g. Miracle Whip ™
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon cocktail sauce
½ cup thinly sliced celery
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 French baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 (6 ounce) package sliced mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the broiler.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together crabmeat, creamy salad dressing, Worcestershire sauce, cocktail sauce, celery and pickle relish.
  • Arrange French baguette slices on a medium baking sheet in a single layer. Broil until lightly toasted, 2 to 5 minutes, in the preheated broiler.
  • Spread even amounts of the crabmeat mixture on the toasted baguette slices. Top with mozzarella slices.
  • Broil in the preheated oven 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 ½ cups milk
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 (6 ounce) can crab meat, drained
⅛ teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning TM, or to taste
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread
1 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Combine the cream cheese, milk, mayonnaise, horseradish, crab meat and Old Bay Seasoning ™. Mix until creamy. Spread mixture into an 8x12 inch baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Cut a circle out of the top of the bread and scoop out the inside. Tear the inside into pieces for dipping.
  • Remove mixture from oven and spoon into hollowed bread. Cover the top with the shredded cheese and more seasoning. Place the bread bowl on a medium baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven 45 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Serve hot with bread pieces on the side.
