CONFETTI CHRISTMAS CUTOUT COOKIES
What's the confetti secret? Candy sprinkles are mixed into this easy cookie mix cookie dough.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375°F. In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, butter, flour and egg until dough forms. Sprinkle candy sprinkles over dough; gently kneed into dough.
- Roll dough on floured surface until about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7 to 9 minutes or light golden brown around edges. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet; cool completely, about 20 minutes.
- Decorate with frosting and additional candy sprinkles as desired.

Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Chill until firm, 1 hour. , On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4-in thickness. Cut out with Christmas cookie cutters of your choice. Using a floured spatula, transfer cookies to greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks., Decorate cookies with frosting and colored sugars.

FUNFETTIAND#174; BROWNIE CUT-OUTS

Steps:
- 1. HEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 13 x 9-inch pan with foil, extending foil over edges. Spray foil with no-stick cooking spray. Prepare brownies as directed on package using oil, water and eggs. Spread in prepared pan.
- 2. BAKE 28 to 31 minutes or until set. Cool completely. Cover with foil. Freeze 30 minutes.
- 3. REMOVE brownies from pan by lifting with edges of foil. Place on cutting board. Trim off edges. Cut into shapes with 2 1/2-inch cookie cutter. If brownies become too soft to cut easily, return to freezer for 15 minutes. Remove excess crumbs with pastry brush.
- 4. ADD food color to frosting. Frost as desired. Sprinkle with candy bits.
- HALLOWEEN - Use pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter. Tint 1/4 cup frosting with 1 drop red and 3 drops yellow food color to make orange, or tint light green. Frost and decorate as desired. Sprinkle with Halloween Funfetti Candy Bits.
- HOLIDAY - Use tree-shaped or ornament-shaped cookie cutter. Tint frosting light green. Frost and decorate as desired. Sprinkle with Holiday Funfetti® Candy Bits.
- VALENTINE - Use heart-shaped cookie cutter. Tint frosting pale pink. Frost and decorate as desired. Sprinkle with Valentine Funfetti Candy Bits.
HOLIDAY CONFETTI CUT OUTS

Steps:
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except icing. Beat until well-blended and soft dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. On well-floured surface roll out 1/3 of the dough to 1/8" thickness. Keep remaining dough refrigerated. Cut with 2" cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-19 minutes until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute, remove from cookie sheet to wire racks to cool. Decorate with icing as desired.
- Repeat with the remaining dough.

- Cream the butter and sugar together in the bowl of an electric mixer on low to medium speed. (Use the paddle attachment). Mix until thoroughly incorporated - for about one minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a plastic spatula and mix again for a few seconds more. Over mixing the butter and sugar in this step will cause too much air to be incorporated into the dough. If you'd like a light and fluffy cookie, that's ideal, however the dough will spread more during baking; not ideal if you'd like the cookie to hold its shape.
- Add eggs slowly and mix. Scrape down the bowl with your spatula at least once and mix again. Add vanilla extract. Stir briefly.
- Sift your dry ingredients together. (Flour and salt). Add all of the flour mixture to the bowl. Place a large tea towel between the edge of the bowl and the electric mixer so that the flour won't escape. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds. Remove the tea towels and observe the dough mixing; when it starts to come together add the confetti sprinkles and mix until the dough clumps around the paddle attachment. The dough should peel away from the sides of the mixer and clump around the paddle attachment. You can also test the dough by pinching it between your thumb and index finger. If it’s soft but not sticky, it’s just right. If it’s too sticky when you pinch it between your fingers, add flour, ¼ cup at a time, and mix until you’re happy with the texture. There are various reasons why a dough can be too dry or too sticky, ranging from humidity in the environment, to what kind of flour you use, the fat content of the butter etc., however, there are ways to fix the issues if you run into the
- Roll the dough out between 2 large pieces of parchment paper. Place on a baking sheet and into the fridge or freezer for a minimum of 1 hour.
