HOBO BEANS
This recipe is a BIG hit with the kids. They like it served over crunched up Doritos, kind of like a frito chili pie. Warm up the left overs the next day and they are even better!

Steps:
- Empty cans of beans into a large crock pot. Do not drain juice. Add Manwich, brown sugar, ketchup, and barbecue sauce. Stir together.
- In a large skillet brown hamburger and sausage. Add onion and peppers long enough to soften.
- Fry bacon separately and crumble into small pieces.

CROCK POT HOBO BEANS FROM SCRATCH (OAMC)
I can't really take much of the credit for this recipe. It's just the result of ideas I've purloined over the years. When I take it to a potluck I've learned to have a half dozen copies of the recipe with me. I freeze it one cup at a time in sandwich size zip lock bags. It reheats quite well.

HOMESTEAD COWBOY BEANS
I have an enormous family and all of the men go trail riding several times a year and these beans are one of the things they look forward to. My aunts and I put together their favorite combination several years ago, and have it ready at their camp, and they are some happy cowboys! You can mix different beans to your liking (lima, kidney, etc.), but the boys in our family like this mixture the best.

Steps:
- Cook together ground beef and onion until done.
- Drain off any grease from ground beef and onion mixture (I always use a colander for this and sometimes I even rinse my ground beef with hot water to make it more lean and to take the grease off better.) After meat mixture is drained add all ingredients to large pan or crockpot and mix well.
- Simmer 45 minutes on stove or cook for 4 hours in crockpot.
