You are going to love this buttery, chewy bread! It will take about 5 minutes to mix and it is absolutely delicious warm from the oven. Enjoy it plain or try the Everything Bagel Seasoning and Cheddar variation.

2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 can (355mL/1 and 1/2 cups) beer at room temperature
2 tsp. melted butter (to brush on top)
1/4 cup butter at room temperature
1 tbsp. honey
1/8 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. dried minced garlic
1 tbsp. dried mixed onion
2 tbsp. poppy seeds
2 tbsp. sesame seeds
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground sea salt
Herbed Beer Bread Mix Recipe (above)
1 tbsp. Everything Bagel Seasoning Mix, plus 2 tsp. to sprinkle on top (optional topping)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1/2 cup goes into the bread and 1/2 cup is sprinkled on top of loaf before baking.

Steps:

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt and thyme. Stir well.
  • Add 1 can (355mL/1 and 1/2 cups) of room temperature beer and stir just until combined.

This cheese and herb beer bread is an easy recipe that is crazy good served with a steaming pot of chili or simply enjoyed with butter.

3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 x 340ml bottle beer of your choice
1.5 cups grated mature cheddar
3 tablespoons fresh herbs (chopped (I used parsley, thyme and basil))

Steps:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 170°c and grease a loaf tin well.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add 1 cup of the cheese and herbs and mix well then pour in the beer and mix until just combined.
  • Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf tin then scatter over the remaining cheese and place in the oven.
  • Bake for 45-60 minutes until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20-30 minutes before serving.

1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
1 (12 ounce) bottle alaskan ESB beer
1 cup cheddar cheese, finely grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Grease and flour a large (9-inch) loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sage.
  • Stir in the Alaskan ESB and cheese until complete blended.
  • Spread evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake until a thin wooden skewer inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 50-55 minutes.
  • Cool the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups non-alcoholic beer or 2 cups regular beer
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Mix together flour, cheeses, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, oregano, parsley, thyme and salt.
  • In a small bowl, combine beer and oil.
  • Make a well in center of flour mixture.
  • Add beer all at once, tossing with fork until dry ingredients are just moistened.
  • Spread batter in prepared pan; smooth top.
  • Bake bread until golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 50-55 minutes.
  • Transfer pan to wire rack to cool for 15 minutes.
  • Note: Keep in mind darker beers, like ales and stouts, are more flavorful than light.

1/3 c sugar
1 c finely shredded cheese (I used fiesta blend)
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
12 oz beer (I used Bud Light), but a cider beer would be great!
Pam non-stick spray

Steps:

  • 1. Spray a Bundt pan with Pam and sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese into the bottom.
  • 2. Mix flour, sugar, remaining cheese, and seasoning in a bowl. Pour in beer and mix with a wooden spoon just until mixed.
  • 3. Divide dough into thirds and place into the Bundt pan.
  • 4. Cover and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  • 5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 55 minutes.
  • 6. Turn out onto a serving plater.
